A ray of hope...

Some of you may know the ongoing battle I am having regarding a religious exemption to newborn procedures at the hospital. We've gone back and forth with them continually sending me letters demanding a court order, etc, and I've emailed them with the law that states they cannot impose those procedures on my child if I am religiously opposed to them. Anyway...

I just received an email from the RN Women's and Children's Patient Education coordinator. She said she received the law I sent her and forwarded it to the Pediatrics department, and is sending me a form to look over. Then, of course, she resorted to scaremongering and telling me all the horrible things that will happen to my child should I withhold these all important procedures from them. I thought THAT was annoying, especially since if this WAS someones religious belief, they wouldn't be able to do anything about that and it would just make them feel horrible. But I don't suppose she cares about that.

Anyway, it seems that I'm busting down a few walls...we'll see what the form she is sending says...

Well?

Is it the standard "Yes I am aware I am endangering my childs life and the life of others by being a fringe wacko who refuses to inject (insert child's name here) with multiple forms of neurotoxic poisons of questionable effectiveness."
form?

I can't believe they are harassing you this much about it.

Update when you can?

No, hospitals don't care about your religious beliefs if they don't mesh with their procedures. I know a sorta JW friend of mine was yelled at, belittled, and had a doctor come in to yell at her because she refused to sign the paper giving them permission for a blood transfusion "should it be necessary" when she went in to have her tubes tied. They actually had her crying, but she still refused to sign. It is nice to know there are such bullies in the medical community.
