Is this an allergy?

I noticed a small rash on my DS's torso yesterday. Today it is no longer a rash, but red bumps that spread from his legs, up his torso, on his arms and his face. I haven't changed our laundry detergent recently and he hasn't eaten anything different in the past couple days. He did eat some raspberries a few days ago but he's had them before.

DS doesn't give any sign that he's ill and has no fever. They don't seem to bother him, but they are getting worse. Any idea what this could be? Does it sound like an allergy?

has he seemed sick a few days ago? It sounds a lot like roseola or some other kind of viral rash. I mean it could be an allergy, but I'd say if it peaks in the next few days and is gone within two weeks, and doesn't come back, then it's just viral. My dd had rubella and aside from the nasty rash all over her torso and face, she wasn't sick at all. She had no fever, wasn't upset, and the rash never bothered her. Usually if a rash is from an allergy it itches cause of histamine. So while I'd take note of it, if it doesn't happen again it was probably just viral.
