Reaction to bee sting,let's talk

Dd1 got a sting right between the eyes Sunday.Today is Tuesday, and her eyes are still little creases in a sea of puffiness.Do we need to see a doctor? She is not bothered at all, even went to school yesterday(she's 5).We put a burts bee's remedy for stings on it Sunday night.Yesterday we got Benadryl, but It's the liquid mostly for colds and swelling.I could not find the topical pink lotion stuff. It stops the occasional itch, but no difference in swelling.Any suggestions? Is this serious?

I think if it was a serious reaction there'd be more than just puffiness by now. Like she would get stung and very soon after be gasping for air. Puffiness just sounds like what happens to me when I get stung by a wasp, which is no big deal and I've never gone to the doctor for it. (But getting stung by a bee for me is much worse.)

I think it's worth watching, but honestly I wouldn't be unduly concerned. Definitely monitor her next sting. It is a venom, after all, so it's going to do some damage even in non allergic individuals.

Do you have a picture we could see? How old is she? Younger children tend to over-react to even mosquito bites, so I am hopeful here for you.

bee stings, even in non-allergic people tend to swell and don't heal as fast as you think. I was told that a serious reaction would happen within 2 hours of the sting, otherwise, a topical reaction would heal in a week. just watch for the next time around, just in case.

dd reacts like this. I always ALWAYS carry homeopathic apis at 200c just in case she gets stung. She gets almost as bad with mosquito bites...some kids are just hugely reactive.

: and Ledum (homeopathic also) for stings. I carry them in my purse all the time and have 2 bottle and different places in the house.

yes-ledum for all stings (puncture wounds really which is what a sting is) and insect bites, but I have apis at 200 specifically for the bees as we have hives.

Thanks,we did get the ledum and apis.the apis is working great. She almost looks normal today. Not like herself, but like a person. She never was bothered, which is great for a 5 year old.Not afraid of bees, not in any pain, just her normal self other than swollen eyes and forehead area. She was annoyed right afer the sting that a bee would sting her,as she is always nice and gives them their space, like "the nerve!".Once we told her the stinger was not in,she was happy as can be.Thanks for your help and advice. For future reference,do you think histiminim would have done any good?
