Our 14 year old niece, as the post says has alot of Self-Esteem problems, she will be staying with us for 2 weeks becuase SIL will be out to a business trip to Pert, she have been here for 3 days already and we have talked about it, she's a nice and in my opinion she's a very beautiful young lady, but she has been saying that her classmates(specially one) have been calling her by names becuase of her height, she's 4'11 or 4'10, or so, I don't think that's to short for her age as I have meet kids smaller of the same age(our neighbor is 14 and 4'9.. She has been telling me that she's not pretty and doesn't want to go to school and honestly I'm not the best to help her,I don't know how to manage this situation becuase I have a low self-esteem myself(my slef-esteem was worst than hers) but in my opnion I'm not the best to help her,
Please tell me what should I do?
Please tell me what should I do?

I have worked on building my children's self-esteem since they were born. My son seems to be doing ok (he is 13) but my daughter seems to just loathe herself. (she is 17) I can not figure out why. I try to be positive with her, tell her how beautiful she is on a regular basis. How smart and how capable she is. Maybe it's sinking in, I don't know. Does she like to read? There are some wonderful books out there now for young women to read. (Mine wont read but maybe your niece will) and that might spark a discussion that will get her thinking about consciously changing her own views of herself?
