Abby is teething real bad right now. Today she put two and two together when she saw that I say "ouch" when she chomps. At that moment it became a game. I've been really worried about how all this would go down when this day came. I've always doubted if I could make it through the getting teeth thing. If this happened at 4 months I would have been thinking bottle LOL. Now that she is 12 months I think I'm more apt to stick it out, but I am still having a hard time dealing with it. Today I've been leaving the room when she bites me. That wasn't phasing her though.

Anyway, I was complaining to her dad about getting bit. He is a huge lactivist and very supportive of extended nursing, nip, etc. I told him I wasn't sure how we'd get through this and that perhaps weaning wasn't such a bad thing. He'd wants me to stick it out and wean when she goes off to college. My heart is very much into nursing until at least two.

So tonight I am nursing Abby to sleep and talking to DH on the phone. I ended up getting bit so I took the boob away from the baby. She wasn't happy. I didn't leave the room though, but I told her I'd leave the room if she did it again. DH made some comment about that and I told him that she was going to stop biting me one way or another. He was like, "what are you going to do? Get cast iron pasties?" It's a good thing I was laying down because I was laughing so hard.

I just thought I'd share this story with you while asking for advice. I tried googling cast iron pasties and steel nipple shields and no one makes them.
