DS#2 is allergic to peanuts (including lentils and sesame seeds) and tree nuts. Is coconut in either of those catagories?

Coconut is not a nut and it's not related to peanuts.
ETA: Even thought it's frequently classified as a fruit, I think it's really a seed.

Good!! We need the calories. Well, DS does; I don't.

Did you do a blood allergy panel? Claire had a nut panel done because I knew she was allergic to peanuts and I wanted to see if I could try tree nuts (almonds, cashews etc). On that panel she tested positive for seseme seeds, but not for coconut which was on there too.

peanuts aren't a nut-they're a legume. Tree nuts are a separate category entirely, and coconut is separate from that. Try it!
I read recently though that coconuts are technically a nut, seed and a fruit. Isn't that odd?
