milk strike??

so ds has been sick with a fever for two days now. and since then he has refused all the supplemental milk i have tried to give him (including formula and goat's milk both of which he used to take fine) and wanting only to nurse nurse nurse all the time. i am so sore i just need a break but more importantly i am worried he is not getting enough food and possibly dehydrated (still peeing/pooping but definately way less pee than normal)...he is 11 months and for the past 8 months has taken at least 12 oz of supplement a day. he usually eats a ton of solids too but these past few days he is eating very little. I feel like his increased demand to nurse is probably related to hunger (and of course comfort since he isn't feeling well....oh yeah...and he's working on a front tooth as well) but he won't accept anything other than the breast. for various reasons a sns/lactaid is not an option.

have others experienced a strike like this or should i be concerned enough to call his doc?

thanks in advance for any tips.

Sounds like a smart baby- he knows that breastmilk is the best thing for him right now. Maybe he'll be able to get your supply up enough that you won't have to supplement

Ditto-as long as he's still peeing and pooping you are fine. Babies aren't considered dehydrated unless they have less than two wet diapers a day.

Most people don't want to eat or drink when they are sick. IF you're belly hurts you generally don't want food. It's no different for babies. You have a smart little one over there! Just keep nursing.
