Life with a babe week of 9/25 - Page 2

Hi everyone! Fiona is 3 wks 3 days old today and she is doing really well. She had a little jaundice the first couple of days and now we are battling thrush, but other than that, she is a good baby. I am amazed at how much she can sleep! I go in there all the time just to make sure she's still breathing DD1 was not like that at all, so I am not used to it. Speaking of DD1 (almost 2), we are having more problems with her during this adjustment period. She just doesn't want to sleep! Then, when we finally get her to sleep, she will wake up a few hours later and get in bed with us. She also has total meltdowns when anything doesn't go her way. It is so frustrating and I don't know how to deal with it most of the time. We are moving in a month also, so I know that that is also going to be hard for her. I feel so bad for her and I wish I knew what I could do to make it easier for her.

yeah for some reason they wanted to do 2 tests here. i think all of az does it but in OK i don't even remember them doing ONE test let alone 2. course we were in a hosp. for the birth and could have done one when they took him to the nursery and i cleaned up. i don't want them to do another. theres nothing wrong with her and i have no reason to believe that she is at risk for anything. i just don't know what to exspect when they find out i didn't do the second test. the dr. just told me to go to the lab and at that time i was already pretty pissed cause i had waited with a very fussy screaming baby for half an hour and was just wanting to get out of there and get her to sleep. so i just didn't go to the lab.

ds is also 2 (in one week) and i am noticing that hes jelous and needs some extra time with me. its hard to spend extra time with him cause during the day i am alone to take care of them and the house and then in the evenings dd is very fussy and does NOT like to be put down and of course daddy just doesn't cut it for her. so i try to give him hugs and kisses but i find when i have the time is occupied and when i am busy he wants attention!! :

hey mimi- have you considered trying chiropratic work or cranial sacral therapy for the reflux? or an elimination diet for yourself?

anyone had any experience with your dc and changing clothes making a HUGE difference in their "behavior"?

oddly enough wih ds we pretty much always had him in sleepers and hardly ever in onsies. wish dd now though i have been putting her in onsies and for the first time i put her in a sleeper yesterday and WHOA it seems she is MUCH more happy/comforted. she had been really fussy/wouldn't sleep very well and just wanted tons of "affection" (don't take that the wrong way!!). she seems much happier now but i wonder if i am imagining it or if it just happened to coincide with normal shift in her b/c of her age..
tell me what you think....
