Allergy to ice cream but not cow's milk?

Is this possible? I'm starting to notice a pattern of congestion after eating ice cream at night but I don't get it from a glass or two of nonfat milk, yogurt or cheese.

Too much sugar congests me faster than anything else.

several people have posted this. I'd say it's most likely the sugar.

gluten is also in some brands of ice cream if you have gluten sensitivity

Me too. Since I cut out processed foods and sugar a few years ago my pet/seasonal allergies have disappeared too.

It could also be the result of non allergic rhinitis. Do any other cold things cause similar symptoms? That is what triggers mine. I also get it if I drink to much iced drinks, but ice cream is the worst.

Before I was dairy-free, milk would bother me only slightly, but ice cream was much worse, as well as other cold things (iced drinks, for example). I never knew why, though. . .
