Ack! my 5wk old ds has what we thought was infant acne all over his cheeks, chin, and a bit on hsi forehead. His skin is super rough- and now it looks as though the bumps are joining to form a rough patch here and there. His skin is really rough- adn gets relaly red from time to time- it's been over a week now. I already took dairy out of my diet from gas issues- has one brother who had milk sllergy early on and another brother with peanut allergy- but their reactions were more hive-ish- these are rasied rough bumps-

what do you tink?

I think it sounds exactly like eczema....

How long since you had dairy? It can take two weeks to get out of your system and another two to get out of his, so at least a month, plus another week to see a change. I know, it's forever!

Eczema can be from an allergy to anything at all though. Or several things...

If it doesn't clear up, you might try an elimination diet. Or at least a food log.

Did the no dairy help with the gas?

The no dairy has already helped with the gas, fussiness, and mucous in the super green poo. (block feeding to per oversupply- it took 12 hour bocks to get yellow poops again! O but how beautiful that yellow is! DH and I both now admire the seedy-yellows. The moment I go of the 12 hours though- it gets greener and greener again. Wonder if that has is connected in any way...??? 2 days without dairy and he was a new baby. 4 days and he wasn't cngested anymore.

hmmm- would ou wait the 2wks to see if its dairy related or just start elimination diet now?

thanks so much fro the eczema info- it's exactly what I was looking for.

Hmm, if it were me, I would wait at least two weeks, but also keep a food log in hopes of doing a minimal elimination diet. The hard-core diet is SOOO hard, I think I would try to avoid it if I could. But if you're up for it, it doesn't hurt anything but your sanity!
That's awesome that it's already helped with the gas etc. A really good sign for the eczema I'd think.

I don't know how block feeding works...are you nursing just on one side for 12 hours and then the other side for the next 12 hours? Don't you get engorged on the non-nursing side? Isn't it funny how excited we all get about poop? LOL! I never in my pre-baby life would have thought that I would examine each diaper so closely!
