Floride removed by water filters?

Hello,
I was at the dentist the other day and they told me that filtering water removes floride from it? Is this true? And does it matter which filter you use?
Kind of happy if this is true.

Nope. Only reverse osmosis filters will remove flouride.

I suspected it was too good to be true!

I was going to saying distiliing would take out the flouride but i doubt filters would.

I know our Pur filter says it doesnt.
