And can anyone recommend a good bellydancing DVD?

I danced for part of my last pregnancy (until possible placenta previa meant "no pelvic jiggling of any sort") and I plan on dancing through upcoming pregnancies. (I've danced for over 12 years)

Although it's more exercise than belly dance, I like the dvds/tapes by the "Belly Dance twins" Veena and Neena (the BellyDance Fitness for Beginners series) for prenatal dance since the moves are very gentle. And although it is more exercise oriented, you could certainly use the moves to put together a decent dance routine.

I have the Goddess Workout Bellydance dvds (by Dolphina) and I'm not a big fan. If you're new to dance the dvds don't give enough to really learn the moves (camera angles are really bad for some moves...you can't see what is moving or how). The "Beyond Basics" one is better than the first, but again...I didn't like them. Other people do though!

I really enjoyed Tribal Fusion Belly Dance "Yoga Isolations and Drills: A Practice Companion with Rachel Brice" but I don't think it's great for pregnancy since the yoga positions don't take a pregnant belly into consideration, and some of the sections are a little intense if you haven't been dancing regularly (as in, daily!).

Soooo...I think belly dance is a wondeful prenatal exercise program, it's a wonderful dance to share with older children, and it's a lot of fun. But take is slow and gentle!

I just bought Belly Dance prenatal fitness & dance instruction program with Naia. I've never danced before, like EVER! And the reviews on Amazon.com said that it would be great for a beginner.
