Weirdest thing EVER!

So, on Wednesday night I was babysitting for a little boy I used to nanny for - he's 2.5.

He was eating dinner and I was in the chair next to him. We were chatting about the state of the green beans, etc., totally normal, when he stopped talking and looked at me with this funny little smile.

"What?" I asked him.

He pointed at my stomach and said "Baby."

He had NO WAY to know that I'm pregnant - I was planning to tell his parents that night and I'm only a little over 4 weeks. It's not like I'm showing.

Well, of course, after he said that, I said "WHAT?" and then he wouldn't say it again.

When I told his mom the story (she's an MD and VERY straight-laced) she said "You know, he's done that sort of stuff to me before, and it's just so weird!"

So. That's the weirdest way someone has found out about my pregnancy so far.

How about you?

My son did the same thing. He has no way of knowing we were even TTC, I've kept it from him because I don't want him telling my ex (his dad). But the other day he told a friend of mine "Mommy has a baby in her belly" It shocked me. She just assumed he knew. She said her son knew when she was pregnant too.

The day that I tested positive on a home test, I was walking my kids home from school when this older friendly homeless man on a bicycle stopped to ask me directions. He was on his way to our town's free dinner, and asked me if I was going to go. I said probably not, but he urged me to come, saying that he would bring extra food for me as he knew I was hungry because I was eating for two!!!!! (and I do not look pregnant.)

I had just said the day before that I wished a magician or a psychic would tell me if I was pregnant or not...I guess that was him!

i met a friend's mom for the first time. she's a really hippie dippy astrological type woman. we were talking about our 2 year old (who was not with us). she goes 'are you going to have another one? are you pregnant?' i was not even 4 weeks but had tested +. dh and i were both like whaaaaaaaa????

we told my dh's business partner we were going to start ttc. he says 'trying. now there's a concept!' he has 3 kiddos which were all unplanned. so he wants us to have 3 and tells my dh 'i hope you have twin girls' so i was over at their house last weekend and his wife tells their 3 year old. 'she has a baby in her belly' the 3 year old looks at me and goes 'two' we totally busted up laughing. i'm sure she didn't know anything about that twin talk because that was weeks before. i think eric and my eyes both almost popped out of our heads!! we'll see if its true i'm scared about that one!

No interesting people stories, but two interesting pet stories. The first time I was pregnant (ended at three months) my cat let me know. She kept dragging out my underwear from the laundry basket, just to sit there sniffing it. (I bought a tall laundry sack after that, how embarrasing!) Now that I've been reminded of that, I wonder if she's still fascinated?

Last night, I was at a friends house and their dog just kept coming by to sniff at me. I'm over there all the time so it wasn't like I was someone new, she was just fascinated. She's the same dog who loves loves loves babies. Smart animal.

When I was pregnant with baby #3, my friend's dog would come sniff and snuggle my stomach. She had never done that before! Then she'd sit next to me and "guard" me

Such neat stories!!

I was pregnant in May, and didn't know it. I went to a baby shower for a girlfriend I was very close to in college, but haven't seen in a while. It was at her sister-in-law's house. I got there a few minutes early (came from across town and wanted to be there on time...), and when her sister let me in, she said, "Oh, Courtenay! I didn't know you were expecting, too!" I didn't know yet, myself...and so I said, "Um, I'm not..." I am a size six, and wasn't even "feeling chubby" that day. She was aghast. I found out three days later that I was pregnant, and lost the baby three days after that. That's the weirdest way I"VE ever found out I was pregnant...
