I am not a Howard Stern fan, but my DH is. I had no idea about this:

After I read this, I read an interview where he tore Luke Perry up about being intact, all the sad, typical stuff, (aren't women afraid? Did you get an infection?). It wasn't good. :

So, I guess since then he's seen the light! Nice.

What about the last 7 years?

This was about an interview between him and Kyra Sedgewick in April '00. It's from a Howard Stern fan website:

"The subject of circumcision came up and Kyra told Howard that their son wasn't circumcised. Howard said that's good and that if he'd had a son he wouldn't allow it either. Howard had been asking whether or not Kevin was circumcised but Kyra wouldn't say yes or no. Howard thinks it's mutilation when they do that to babies. Kyra agreed."

I wonder, too, why he hasn't commented much in the years since.

Oh, wait, here's something from '05:

"Howard took a call from crazy Susan who brought up circumcision and had Howard talking about that for a short time. Howard believes that kids shouldn't be circumcised so they tried to discuss that but the delay was hit on them multiple times."

Way to go Howard! It's nice when a famous person voices the concerns of us little people!

Yeah, I've known he was against it for awhile.

Wow... learn something new every day. I now actually have a reason to like Howard Stern!! I usually despise the man, but being so outspoken about circumcision gives him a big thumbs up in my book!

I did not know he was against it. That's great!

I also did not know that the Catholic church was anti-circ.

Yeah, that's their official stance. Too bad so few American priests actually KNOW this information. I had a friend who went to their priest b/c she didn't want to circ and her dh did. The priest told her that it would be better for the son to be circ'd if her dh were circ'd, to not be circ'd if he wasn't. Of course the priest KNEW her dh was circ'd from her initial comments. Blah! So I wonder how he'd change it if the dh were intact, cuz it seems to me he was just FOR circ. We live in teh Midwest, btw.

I used to be catholic. It makes NO SENSE to go to someone who never has been and never can be married for marriage advice! No sense!

Of course, it's mutilation. That's like saying, "You know what? If you cut off your arm you'll never get an ingrown nail on your hand!" That's a great benefit!
I love that quote. I think I'll use it sometime. Yay for Howard Stern!
