Diagnosis yesterday: Autism/PDD

Thread Starter
Hello! a friend of mine just found out her daughter (age 3) has PDD. It had been suspected for some time now, but nothing was ever "diagnosed" until now. I printed out the mothering article for her that discusses treatments. SHe lives in Pennsylvania. What now? Where does she begin? SHe is depressed, overwhelmed, and scared? ANy help on this would be appreciated. I am meeting with her for lunch tomorrow. I really want to help since she has three other kids and limited experience with message boards.

If you think she is interested in the biomedical/diet intervention it would be best to get with a DAN doctor. There is lots of hope

The earlier the intervention the better. Often the wait list for the DAN docs are long. You can find one at the site below.

Also a great palce to get conected with other parents and to find out about services and support in here area would be a parent to parent organization.
Here's the one for PA

Your friend is lucky to have you
Many blessings for you both.
on a spiritual side, you might want to look into indigo/crystal children, if your friend is into this, it might help here. I have just come across this recently myself.
