I was talking to my mom yesterday...

My dad is circed, and I'm sure if my sister or I had been boys we would have been cut too, because that's just what was done at the time, totally routine, without question.

Anyway, my mom knows I'm really against it and we've talked about it a bit on several occasions. Quinn is almost 3 now and she watches him for me sometimes and has experience changing his diapers, giving him baths, etc.

Yesterday we were in the car and she said how just the word "circumcision" seems so foreign to her now, like, "Why would you do THAT?" I was the first time she's said something that implied she really 'gets it'.

That's awesome. Especially since she sees first hand how easy the care is. My mom did not circ because my dad said "Hell NO!" so she wasn't really against it, until I shared some of the info I learned and now the idea "Makes me sick!" (her own words).

LOL, yeah, I think my mom is *starting* to get it too. We live about 3 hours away from my parents and younger sisters so she doesn't experience changing him all that much, but we've talked on the phone a lot about it. But yesterday, she was like "well, geez.... If I would have had a boy (she had 5 girls) I would have just done it, without even thinking about it". And I could tell by her tone that she glad that I *did* think about it.
