I'm glad I said something

I have a friend that I went to school with. A little while abck he went through a religious crisis and since I am the only non-religious affiliated person () that he knows he came to me. We have talked about everything and slowly he has come to figure out his beliefs. A lot of his problems were with his church's views on sex/masterbation/seuality etc.

Last night he popped up to talk (on messenger). I had to run to the store and get some things so I said so and ran out the door. On my way to the store (it's on the corner) I was overwhelmed with the urge to talk to him about circumcision. It had come up once before a long time ago and it was such a short passing that I can't remember what was said. So when I got back I brought up the subject and was surprised.

He's angry with his parents for doing it to him. He should have had a say. He says it's the same as FGM...you wouldn't do it to a girl, why a boy?.

So I sent him a link and we talked about restoration. He's interested in it now and would like me to send him some links (he was on his way to bed) on it!

I wouldn't normally bring that up but I'm glad I did. He's considering restoration AND he's not going to circ any of his sons!

I don't normally post here since I have a DD but I thought it was cool. I guess you'll never know unless you say something. I just wanted to share.

Awesome! It's alway better to say something... if I don't say something then I always wonder if I could have made a difference :

love and peace.

I'm going to direct him here...there are far too many links in the restoration sticky to put in one email.

I am so glad to hear that you did....it always warms my heart to hear another man say "i will never do that to my children!" Thank you for talking to him and thanks for sharing good news with us!
