But first, a truly awful photo of my exhasted self at the end of the last 5K I did. I SO don't understand how all you ladies look so *good* in your race photos! At least ds looks good! QUOTE]
Well, for starters, a lot of us run a lot slower!
creb - keep meaning to ask you if you are still having the weird headache things? 2 possibilities I'd think about are temporal arteritis (fortunately less likely) and paroxysmal hemicrania. Here's a link about paroxysmal hemicrania
Temporal arteritis is a more potentially serious condition, but could be ruled out by having a blood test called a sed rate run. Here's a link about TA.
Anyway, I could read your post last week, but couldn't respond, so wanted to see if you were still having trouble.
sally - yay! How exciting! I'm glad the pregnant dingo torch got passed on!
ND - you sound like such a happy pregnant person. I bet your baby is loving every minute of being a part of you!
kerc - I wish you'd come to IL for a few weeks and help me finish up Halloween costumes. As usual, I've bit off more than I can chew. I'm almost done with my older dd's witchy thing (a long black satin dress with a red brocade bolero jacket) but I haven't even started little dd's water fairy costume or little ds's elf from Lord of the Rings, except for buying the patterns and fabric. I always think I have more hours than I do. But how fun would it be to blow off work and take turns sewing and chasing the kids!? And we could make Shanti-cookies for snacks!
Shanti -speaking of you, I'd love to get together when you are here. I have to check my call schedule to see if I'm on that weekend. Are you staying right in the city, or where?
Janessa - yay on the longer run! I think 30 minutes is a breakthrough time, once you are going longer, it gets easier to go longer.
mamabeth - I so wish I still had a baby little enough to justify one of your carriers. I'm trying to think who I know that has a baby that might like one - but unfortunately most of my friends' have older kids now. Some day when I have grandkids, I'm going to get some of the carriers I never got. And J. is getting so big!
HBM - your baby is so beautiful! She looks just delicious - I so miss that stage when their skin is so soft and perfect.
pumpkinseed - one thing I really enjoyed was how many runners there are in DC. I ran on the National mall a couple times and loved seeing so many people out and running. So different from running in my little town and hardly ever seeing even one other runner. I loved the zoo, too, and really enjoyed every monument I went to.
