Hiya mamas, I need some advice.

DS (3 3/4 yo) fell down on the concrete path we were walking on last Saturday. : He hit his two front top teeth on the ground. They did not break or chip, but he did bleed for about 2 minutes and then they were just sensitive for the rest of the day. I checked them at night, when brushing teeth and washing up for bed, and they were a little loose. The right one more than the left one, significantly. I asked him if they hurt a lot, and he said no, just a little. I did not give him any Tylenol or Ibuprofen, because he didn't ask for it. We decided not to go to the dentist, and attributed the slight wobbliness of the teeth to the gums swelling and then contracting. We decided to keep a close eye on them, and go from there.

He ate somewhat well the next day. Not so much at breakfast, but he did eat well at lunch and dinner (pretty common for him). He does not complain about his teeth hurting unless he takes a bite directly using his front teeth, and even then it's a small whimper. From then on, I really haven't heard any complaining, he's been eating well, and we have just taken care of them and I haven't given him any carrots.

But it is now a week later. He does not like me to touch them. He will let me brush his teeth, and I am gentle on his two front teeth. The left one doesn't move hardly at all, but the right one is still kinda wobbly one week post face-plant. It does not seem to be falling out, and the gum line does not seem to be receeding. It's just wiggly, but less than the night of the fall.

I'm not incredibly worried that either tooth will fall out. We've been taking care of the teeth as usual, but have added a third VERY gentle brushing mid-day to keep it as clean as possible. We use J/A/S/O/N Natural Toothpaste. I really don't want to take him to a dentist, because we don't have dental insurance and the wait list is WAY long for the dental school down the road. Also, I don't want the dentist to tell me to just "watch it" and come back if it gets worse (which I'd get him in somewhere if it was or had gotten worse anyway). My question is how many other mamas have had this happen and about how long did it take before the tooth (or teeth) stopped being wobbly? Did it end up falling out? Are there any specific things I should keep a close eye on? Or am I just over-reacting and it will be fine and it just takes a while. Maybe add more of a certain nutrient to his diet to help things along? Keep doing what we're doing?

Thanks in advance, mamas.
