I'm working on compiling and editing a book of homebirth stories. I am really wanting to continue the gentle birth revolution in America that Ina Mae started so long ago. Both of my daughters were born at home and I feel so strongly that it is the best way to give birth, naturally and without intervention. I feel that American women need more inspiration and more confidence in their own bodies. I know that with my first pregnancy, I fell in love with reading birth stories. Some were homebirth, some were hospital, some were scary, some were incredible - but they all were inspiring and beautiful. I feel that women need more access to positive, inspiring birth stories, which is why I want to compile this book.
I was wondering if any of you would be interested in being a part of my book. I'm looking from stories from homebirth midwives, mothers, fathers, and children. So far, anything goes. I would also love to have any photos you would like to share. Please let me know what you all think. And if anyone has any ideas about getting published, send those along too. I would really appreciate it. If you would like to go ahead and email, that would be great. I will be very respectful and appreciative of your stories and photos. Thank you!
