Morning Sickness - What to do?

After a weekend of feeling "yucky," I am thinking I need to get some suggestions on how to deal with morning sickness!

When I was sick with baby #3, I:

* Ate a lot of protein (especially dairy as it seemed that "heavy" foods actually helped)

* Took an extra 50 mg of B6

* Sucked on Altoids

What are your best suggestions for dealing with the yucks?

Didn't have m/s with DD. But, there was a time when my DH could not set foot on a boat without getting severely nauseous. The things that helped: ginger ale, crystallized ginger. Somewhere i have a recipe for ginger tea, which is supposed to be very good for nausea. Let me know if you want the recipe, and I'll try to dig it out.

Things that help me:
Taking a walk and getting some fresh air
Preggie pop drops (they are supposed to be free samples for my doula-clients but I can't stop eating them!)
Lemon popsicles by Breyers
Cold lemon water
Dry cheerios
Sometimes I'll resort to warm ginger ale and that helps a little

Sea Bands (and driving and NEVER looking to either side)were the only way I could drive in a vehicle of any sort for MONTHS w/dd. Also, eating every hour to hour and a half (small healthy meals like nuts and dried fruit or cheese and an apple), and having DH wake me up at five before he left in the morning with a bowl of high protein oatmeal (which I'd mostly drink down, hand back to him, and go back to sleep), then having him leave toast by my bed, so I could eat again before my feet ever touched the floor, when I got up for GOOD at seven. I also used a lot of mouth wash for the first few months, as if I brushed my back teeth...it was VERY bad:Puke

I saw a thread recently, too, in midwives/doulas/childbirth educators about putting a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (I'm assuming something like Spectrum's unpasteurized stuff) in every glass of water you drink, and sip on it during the day. It had something to do with beneficial bacteria...the mamas who tried it said that it tasted surprisingly fine.

Things that helped last time:

peppermint tea
cool compress on back of neck and/or forehead
english muffins
white rice with a little crumbled nori
scrambled eggs (couldn't stand the taste while queasy, so I just swallowed w/o chewing)
a little peanut butter

it seems like whatever your comfort foods are help...mine are cold cereal and peanut butter toast.

courtenay, i have been drinking water with a little apple cider vinegar with fresh lemon juice, mostly to keep away that yeast : but also because it's good for digestion and the lemon has vit c. my husband thinks it is so gross but i find that i crave it! (just about a tablespoon of vinegar and a whole juiced lemon in a quart of water)

also, be careful about the ginger...you aren't supposed to consume lots of ginger in early pregnancy because ginger is a known home remedy for women trying to bring on their period. a little is fine, but i wouldn't go eating it all day.

i KNOW that morning sickness is usually just a sign that i should have eaten something earlier, but it's hard to eat so much when you aren't used to it! eating a protein + carbohydrate is what i have always been told to do, but it's so hard to stay on top of it! also sugar seems to just crash me out and make the nausea so much worse so i'm avoiding sugar for now, and high glycemic foods like bread and pasta.

i like to carry around a little cup of tamari sunflower seeds that i buy in bulk... and i sort of drink them. they are nourishing and salty!!
