Did you see how Dex freaked over Deb being in trouble? Dex definitely has feelings, lots of emotions, and maybe they are coming back more and more because he is remembering.

Deb is so dense. I actually found myself agreeing with Rudy when he said, "What kind of cop are you? How could you not suspect? So desperate to be in love..." Geez. I didn't like this storyline at all but I guess it had to involve her as one way for Dex to open up.

One more episode...Can't wait for next season!

Last nights show was amazing!

I'm so glad that they ended the season with a sense of resolve.

I think my favorite part was when Rudy went to stab Deb and discovered it was a fake all sliced and wrapped.

I really hope Rita won't freak about finding the shoe. I can see that she's starting to doubt Dex but that she doesn't want to, but I hope she can see that he banged her ex over the head with a cast iron skillet for the safety of her and he children!

Dh seems to think that Dokes will die next season because Dex can't have dokes following him around. He thinks Dex may find something out about him and kill him, but I don't think so. If he dies, it'll be by someone else. The Cuban connection maybe?

Can't wait till next season!

Neh, I don't think Dokes will die. All protagonists need an antagonist, KWIM?

I hope Rita doesn't catch on, although I swear they made some allusion that she might not care even if she did. I doubt she would catch on, serial killers go undetected by their own wives for years, sometimes forever.

Am I the only one who liked Rudy? lol. I found fake Rudy very likable, poor dense Deb. Deeply Dense Deborah. I noticed they make a lot of plays on the D words on the show, the books are all titled stuff like Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter.

Last night's show was good, I miss Dexter already! It was a wee bit spoiled for me because I read the book although some elements were changed. I never thought I would be able to accept David Fisher as a serial killer but Michael Hall is awesome.

We just sat down to watch it last night. It was so good. Dex often talks about how cold he is & wonder if next season they will play on all the emotions that he is feeling. Fear of losing sister, protecting Rita, grief over killing his brother (the only one that understood him). I wonder how Rudy found out so much info on Dex, it must have taken years. I thought it ironic how Dex killed him. He certainly is stepping away from his MO.
Good Show...I too am surprised I can like David Fisher as Dexter....I guess Michael Hall is just one FINE actor!!!!!!

Anyone still watching this? I only have very basic cable, so I'm watching these all a little delayed, now that I've (ahem) downloaded the series. I too was interested because of Michael C. Hall and LOVING 6ft Under. The first few episodes were pretty blah for me, then the next few were better, and now I'm kinda hooked. DP started watching it while I was gone one night and finished the season almost immediately. Silly man.

I just found the wikipedia entry, and more episodes don't start coming out until the end of September - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dexter_%28TV_series%29 That's way too far away. And I'm not even done watching the first season yet.


...and now this post just sat here for 10 minutes, cuz I got sucked into a scene again. Oops.

I love love love this show so much! Got hooked on Hall through my devotion to watching Six Feet Under when that was running.... still catch the re-runs on Bravo. Good show too.

Ugh! I agree - September is wayyyyyy too long to have to wait for new episodes.

I haven't read this whole thread - but has anyone read the book in which this show is based off of? "Darkly dreaming Dexter"

I'm going to get ahold of a copy.

Hehe, glad someone responded!

I thought about getting the book, too. If nothing else, just to [maybe, hopefully] get dp to read something, since he liked the show so much. I'll put it on my list, anyway. If he says he'll read it, then I'll definitely get it.

Well I just watched the entire first season On Demand over the last 2 days and I am HOOKED. I started watching it because DH would not shut up about it and he usually hates all TV shows (he works on them so hes been watching it and hes already 5 episodes deep into season 2, darn him) so if he likes it, it must be good. I LOVE THIS SHOW! I cant wait until the 30th... wait I dont have Showtime, Ive been watching the free on demand preview....guess I have to order it!

So what do we think will happen this season?

I have no feeling at all about where this season is headed. Last time I had read the book, this time the season supposedly isn't following the next book. I cannot wait! Mmm... Dexter...

i just watched the entire first season in two days with DH. we don't have Showtime but it was OnDemand (edited to be TV14 which we prefer so we can watch it with out freaking out too much if the little ones happen by) and oh my freaking gosh this show is GENIUS! seriously, i am madly in love with it but because we can't afford Showtime.

i read it was based on a novel. i have to pick it up and the sequels to it.

Wow! I totally wasn't expecting Rita's ex to die. Wow. Did you see how she looked at Dex, before she caved into tears? This is gonna get interesting.

I'm loving the whole gang killer story- what's his name? Little something? I can't believe he escaped! Now what? Is he gonna come after Dex? I think he may have seen him.

And the discovery of Dex's ocean cemetary?:

And Dokes. He just cracks me up. It is interesting how Dokes is the only one who knows Dex is just not quite right. What about the storyline with Dokes having an affair with the other cop's wife? Are they gonna go back to there.

The previews for the season look amazing!

I didnt expect the ex to die either, but I guess they wanted to wrap that story up and move on.

Dokes cracks me up! How Dexter will say "Hi" and he answers with "F U! Im on to you you psycho" - at least we know how he really feels!

Lil Chino was that guys name. What a BIG scary dude!

That ocean graveyard was CREEEEEPY. Im sure Dokes will have noticed Dexter has a boat.

DH says something interesting with the 2 women police bosses (the ex Lt. and the woman who replaced her) is going to happen. I really like the Lt. I believe the term is "girl crush" lol

I think that the ex Lt may be sleeping with the new Lt's husband/boyfriend. When the new Lt was talking to the ex Lt about how she thinks he may be cheating on her she looked very uncomfortable.

i have to laugh about this season. poor dex. everything that could have happened to him, did.

i am loving this show though, but i really hope they don't have Dex get caught because i'd hate for this to end after only 2 seasons!

Oh, yeah, Dokes is out of control. Little Chino. He is scary. I wonder if they using tricks with the camera to make him look that big or if he is actually that big. Wow!

That was bizarre. I didn't think the old LT was sleeping with her guy but now that you mention it...

I do want to see what's going to happen with these two women. The new Lt seems to be trying to reach out and the old one just doesn't seem to care. I wonder what those writers have in store for those two...
