First appt/scan scheduled!!

Back to the two week wait. My first prenatal visit is Oct 16...they said that the midwife would do a scan for the sac...but it is VERY doubtful that we will hear a heartbeat. Then we are supposed to come back two weeks after that for the heartbeat. Yay baby!

For those of you with previous pregnancies, when did you hear the heartbeat?

We saw a heartbeat on u/s at 6 weeks 4 days last time. I didn't have another appointment until 12 weeks, at which point we were able to easily hear it on the doppler.

I had a change of heart and decided not to do the scan. I'm not planning on having an u/s at all...but my hubby may con me into getting one for the sex.

I'm nervous about some of the possible risks...and being that the AMA doesn't even recommend it makes me especially leery.

So my prenatal appt will be Oct 30...with no scan.
