Music reccommendation for 14-year-old - Page 2

Mine's not quite a teen yet but he listens to Godsmack, TOOL, Breaking Benjamin, Stone Sour, Korn, Live, Thousand Foot Krutch, Staind, Three Days Grace, Pearl Jam, Drowning Pool, Metallica, Queensryche, Pink Floyd, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy....etc..

I do regluate some of the songs due to lyrics (he's only 8yrs old) but he is a metal head and I don't mind that one bit. We purchase songs thru Itunes and that way we can get the ones he likes that don't have explcit lyrics without having to buy the whole CD.

My teen daughter is into everything from Country, to Swing, to Heavy Metal, to Classic Rock so her choice of bands is quite diverse.

He likes the Cure, Paul Simon, Queen (selected songs) some 80's pop, REM and Yo-yo Ma. (I think we already have all of Yo-yo's stuff, though. )
If he likes Paul Simon have you tried Jethro Tull or The Talking Heads? Other bands my hubby likes (he's a Paul Simon and Queen fan) are The Proclaimers and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (a modern swing band).

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is a lot of fun! And then if he likes them, there's Squirrel Nut Zippers and Brian Setzer Orchestra (and, you know, the actual swing bands they're referencing).

He might also like Southern Culture on the Skids and Reverend Horton Heat.
