I know people say that Red Reaspberry Leaf tea does not cause uterine contractions, but it worked for me! I drank cup after cup after cup of it and started contracting painfully that very night. (Zachary wasn't born for three more days, but I was definitely making progress!) And yes, Zachary was not due for 3 1/2 more weeks when I tried this :, but as soon as I hit 36 weeks I knew he'd be ok and I was DONE with the preterm labor! (I was contracting and contracting for 7 weeks, with no dilation... The RRL tea was just enough, in my opinion, to get me "over the hump" and get my uterus *really* contracting so it could push him down and out. It worked for my sister as well. I made her one large pot of it in the evening and her son was born at 8 in the morning!
Also, I have heard that you can use Evening Primrose capsules as vaginal suppositories to ripen the cervix. Not sure if blue and black cohosh are safe as I have heard conflicting information, but I know some people who have tried it to get labor going also. Not sure if you really WANT to get labor going because I know that's not the part you're looking forward to, Sarita , but unfortunately it is inevitable in order to hold your little one in your arms...

GOOD LUCK!!!

Sarita, my first was 2w past edd. I did nothing to induce, just tried to enjoy the extra time with my unborn. My second was 2.5w past edd. I tried EVERYTHING and nothing worked, but it was HELL to spend that precious time trying so anxiously to evict her.

Enjoy your pregnant time! Once they're out, there's no putting 'em back.

Hi I'm still here sorry I haven't been. This new job is so busy but I am really loving it! I haven't worked 40 hours since I was pregnant and that part is really hard. I used to get so much done errand wise during the week. I was reading on the other list about all of your shopping woes and realizing before this job I RARELY even had to rbing GA to the store. I'd go before I picked her up from daycare since I was working part time. Our house is being swollowed up by the laundry. Clean and dirty laundry everywhere, nothing folded. I am going insane. AND I have to dress very professionally for this job. Getting dressed has been a daily trauma.

GA is loving school so that really helps. She also has a kitchen and she loves it. It is one of her favorite things.

GA was 16 days late Sarita I am feeling your pain :

I used blue and black cohosh in homeopathic form during my labor. there are no risks involved with a homeopathic preparation. these are strong medicines, it's true, but imho they've been given a bum rap I've used the tinctures of these herbs, also, and I do trust them, but they do have to be used with respect and wisdom.

ya seriously huh? I should really just enjoy what's going on now.

I'm not quite ready to think natural induction. And really the problem is that for some reason i just got it in my head that she would be early...also my MIL has got a house full of people for the weekend (lovely *eyesroll*) for some workshop going on in town so if i wait til after the weekend then I don't have to offend her friends by not letting them see my 1 or 2 day old--cuz my babe is NOT coming downstairs right away!!

Oh Meg, I got your package today, already! Thank you so much, the hat is just too cute!!

Good to 'see' you Amy! Hope things aren't too crazy. Razi is loving his school too, it's nice isn't! Dp is watching some kind of PBS show about clean elections. I always think of you when I here election stuff. I'm so glad your loving your job!

I just had to come tell you guys this...tonight while razi was in the bath and dp and I were hanging out in there w/ him, he says "Why is your belly so big?" So I, of course, responded: "Why do you think?" (he totally knows there's a baby in there) and he says: "No, not you mama. Why does daddy?" I seriously almost hit the floor laughing. Poor dp...

life and its constantly changing-ness

so autumn is here.. wet and grey but full of life none the less..

elwynn is such a great kid these days.. i dont have much to complain about and it feels nice. he is being sweet and helpful and caring and funny.. life is going pretty smoothly.

it always feels good to get to a place of calm after some pretty bumpy roads.. i know it cant last forever and probably wont last long, but i still savour the moments.or maybe i savour them more knowing that there wll be an end and another beginning and so on and on and on..

im starting yet another job next week.
ive been doing quite a lot of childcare for a woman in my neighbourhood and another woman has just hired me for a full 10 hour day a week(6:30-5:30) sometimes 2 ..for her 3 year old and before and afterschool care for her school aged child. its going to be a lot but i feel like the universe is providing so im not going to complain at all. sometimes i just put it out there.. i need something and somehow it always comes to me. i dont know if im lucky or if its because i believe it will.. but it is a great lesson in life.. that it is pokay to ask the universe for what you need.

timothy and i have decided that we are going to save up to go on an adventure.. we both want to go to iceland so i guess thats what we are saving up for.. he wants to take a boat from newfoundland to iceland.. but i think thats a pretty big trip with 2 kids! anyways.. its something to work towards and plan. ive always dreamed of going to iceland.. since i was young (i always did all of my school projects on it..) so yeah.
i really have it in my mind to find some land to buy.. maybe on an island somewhere. i have friends moving to denman island to be part of a land co-op there and some other friends thinking of buying land on cortez island where there is this amazing school called linaea (a permaculture program and school for kids and adults) that i was planning on going to the year i got pregnant with elwynn and always said i would go to one day.

so yeah.. life is looking up. ive finally decided that im allowed to make plans .. to look forward to things...going back to school.. or to saving up for something ive always dreamt of. who cares if the world around you tells you its impossible. dreams do come true.

Fern, that sounds wonderful. The Universe always provides. I'm still at an age where I'm trying not to make plans, because then I take them too seriously, and as always the Universe provides something else... Also, good to see you got your sig back!

Sarita, congrats!

Dc just took two days off of school becuse her grandparents came to visit. She was so happy to be back at school today, it was funny. We have such a love/hate relationship with that school... the other week the head teacher was out for a longish bit, so the assistant stepped up. We LOVED it. The assistant is so much more in line with our thoughts and ideals. Anyway, then the head teacher came back. They had a Harvest Festival last week. I attended to help out with the pumpkin carving (my favorite part). Dc ate a green frosted cupcake, and got it around her mouth. I was sitting with her the whole time. Head teacher swooped down and wiped dc mouth. It really bothered me. Dc didn't even bat an eye, but it continues to grate with me. The frustrating thing is that I know it shouldn't, which is why it continues to. :

plans..it doest mean that they wont change..but is somethng to be hopeful for... our life always changes.. on of my favorite my accupressure teacher always said " everything changes except that everything changes"

school.. im still really torn on the subject. its great to hear other peoples experiences with it because they always touch on the things that really worry me about school..

the idea of sending elwynn into a room with a bunch of kids he doesnt know..with an adult he and i dont know, freaks me out a bit. he is so sensitive and i guess i would just really want to know what the person teaching him was all about (people are not always what they seem..)
. i had some terrible teachers growing up who made me feel like total shit because i didnt learn the same way most of the other kids did and because i was quiet and shy and dorky..and other kids picked on me and my friends who were not the popular ones.. i never want any child to have to go through that..

but i think that there are really good things about school. i just wish that there was a better public school system becase i cant really afford to send him to waldorf (though im not even sure it is what we are looking for) and so far i havnt found any school that i just know i would love my kids to go to. im still looking.

this is the school that im really thinking aboiut trying for him next year when he is 5..
