Fenugreek

Just started taking it. Tastes terrible! I'm using capsules, and I've been experimenting with ways to take it that don't gross me out. So far putting it in my oatmeal has worked ok and the flavor actually enhances it. Straight it's pretty gross.

I really hate making tea. Don't like drinking it unless it's super-yummy, which this wouldn't be (or I'd be on the mother's milk tea thread).

Any ideas? Should I be taking other herbs in addition to the fenugreek? My supply is great for DD plus some extra, but I'd really like to be getting a bit more to donate, so I don't need to go nuts, just find something that isn't too much trouble that will help out a bit.

Are the capsulized herbs inferior to fresher stuff? It certainly smells strongly enough! I like that it's powdered so I can eat it and not know it (mostly).

Of course I'm already doing oatmeal and staying hydrated and such.

You might want to try a combination of Fenugreek, Goat's Rue and Blessed Thistle. If you can afford it, motherlove makes great tinctures - more milk plus and more milk special blend.

I always swallow the capsules whole, and I don't taste a thing. I thought that's how you were supposed to use capsules? Should I be emptying them and putting the herb in things?

Yeah, I just swallowed the capsules too. I didn't taste them and they worked great. I also drank lots of Mother's Milk tea with honey, which I've developed a fondness for now.
