Radio show host makes snide comment regarding bf

This morning on a radio show this woman who is pregnant and has decided to not breastfeed made a nasty comment regarding breastfeeding. She said that those that breastfeed will have their children turn out like the Carters (nick and aaron). I just couldn't believe she made a comment like that. Yesterday she read a "diary" entry about how its her right to not want to breastfeed which it is. I just hate it when public figures speak negatively about it.

Snark like that usually covers GUILT!

Yep, she sounds guilty to me too. And homophobic. I would stop listening to her in protest.

What radio station? Sounds like they need a few hundred calls from some angry mamas, lol.

I bet she is feeling guilty about her choice, and trying to defend her choice. But there is not need to talk bad about others who choose to BF.

It was Kelly Raspberry from the kidd kraddick show. I was peeking in at her blog message board and several woman were blasted for defending breastfeeding and one woman who is nursing a 3 year old was told that CPS needs to be called on her. Its not pretty.

Sounds pretty ignorant to me. I hate when radio personalities just say something inciteful to get attention.

Very ignorant. And I agree w/ the pp that people who resort to snide comments and criticisms are generally reacting to their own guilt.

Who are the Carters tho? Should I know this???

They are singers and just started a new reality show. Nick Carter was a backstreet boy I believe and Aaron his younger brother is a singer. Apparently (i haven't seen the show) they are a trainwreck.

In my opinion it was just an opportunity for her to slam breastfeeding. She was upset because she has gotten flack for choosing not to breastfeed.

I think it stinks that she made those comments publicly, but to be honest, I don't think stuff like that is really about breastfeeding or not breastfeeding or mother's rights or anything else. It's about stirring the pot for ratings. And she ought to be ashamed of herself for fueling the fire of the Mommy Wars.

Ugh! I don't know of the show, but I went to the website and read some of her diary and the comments of people blasting those who criticized her -- though I didn't see any comments criticizing her. It's like, if you don't educate people about bfing, moms wonder why nobody helped them. And if you do try to educate them, you are seen as judging or being pushy or that "n" word that gets through around describing lactivists. Ugh, ugh, double ugh!

Maybe someone should clue her in on Michael Jackson, lol.

Why is she having a c-section? (I'm not asking to be snarky, I just checked out her blog and it seems like she has planned one since the beginning of pregnancy.) Just wondering if any of her regular listeners are in the know.
That's actually pretty hilarious. Child stars who grow up badly MUST be due to having been breastfed. Can't possibly have ANYTHING to do with growing up in Hollywood with millions of dollars at their disposal and helping to destroy their family from the inside. Nope. Must be the breastmilk! <--- dripping with sarcasm! and colostrum!

Ammaarah I wouldn't be surprised if her next tirade is about how having a c-section will save her sex life. Or something. :

Sounds like shock-jockeying, to me. Good for (some) ratings, bad for nursing mamis.
