The official Lost *Season 3* thread. (This thread WILL contain spoilers!) - Page 30

The pregnancy test was negative. I rewound and watched it a bunch of times.

My favorite line: Jack saying to Benry "At least you won't be disappointed long."

So, what did you all think of Domesti-Kate? Er, I mean, Monica. I didn't like her.

Edited to add: Does anyone remember the story Jack told Kate when she was stitching him up in the first episode? We need to know! I'll try to look it up later ...

That was the best line. Not being a big Jack fan I loved him last night.

Not a fan of Monica and her bad hair. Mind you I wasn't a fan of her husband either since the last time I saw him on tv Buffy was sending him to hell.

now THAT was a lost episode! definitely the best so far this mini-season...i'm a jack fan anyway but he was delicious in this episode. nice to see him get some life back in his roll.

on another note, there is not nearly enough sayid so far.. :

Seriously, if I had a body like Kate and a chance to do the dirty with Sawyer, I wouldn't care if the whole world was watching!

I definitely think the test was negative. I think the "almost had a baby" thing was her freaking out that she *could* have been pregnant, and then either had to run with a baby or leave a baby behind. I think she was upset about the fact that it almost came down to that.

You know what else is interesting? Jack knows! He knows that The Others, or the monster, or the machine, or whatever, is capable of impersonating other people. That is why he told Kate that he wants her to tell him that story when she contacts him the next time. Although .... how is he so sure that The Others won't know that story and be able to tell it while impersonating Kate? The impersonations of other losties have known things - I mean Dave, for example, and Jack's father, who were never even on the island. So surely The Others would know that story that Jack told right after the plane crash and be able to repeat it while impersonating Kate later on.

Hmmm ....

I think the story Jack is talking about is the one where he was operating on a young girl and he accidentally hit some nerve sac and all the nerves spilled out like angel hair pasta but he was able to stitch it up and she was fine. He was explaining how he deals with fear by counting to 10. Anyone else remember this conversation?

my take: Kate was upset she was "almost pg" like she couldn't believe it herself how domestic she was becoming to try and hide. Taco night? I don't do taco night!

nonconformnmom~ thats an interesting thought.......quick someone watch season one already! whats the story Jack wants to hear?

And I didn't agree with Locke burying poor Eko, wont the beach people want to say their goodbyes? What about Charlie? The stick said "look up and look north" with a John verse # underneath it.....I think Eko's stick is going to provide some interesting tidbits.

I think it said "lift up your eyes and look north". Yes, here's a photo of the stick. And here's a photo of the negative pregnancy test. A Widmore Labs pregnancy test! Dun-dun DUN!

Yep, that's the story I thought Jack was referencing.

SAME!!
Not a fan of Monica and her bad hair.
:
that hair was toooo much!!
I think that is the right story, the one about the spinal cord and pasta and counting to 10.

Not sure what you mean nonconformnmom about impersonating people, could you explain a bit more, it sounds interesting

:

Love these chats!!!

The "impersonating people" idea was not mine originally but kind of evolved here on this thread, I believe. Take a look starting at around post #483 on page 25.

See I just thought he meant that if they had a gun to her head and telling her what to say, the only way he could know if she was actually safe is if she told the right story.

If they had a gun to her head and telling her what to say to Jack, wouldn't they just pull the trigger if she wandered off their script and starting telling him a story? And if they weren't holding a gun to her head, would she just call him and tell him the story? Wouldn't she tell him she was safe and explain where they are and what they are doing etc. why waste time telling him something he already knows?
Well I imagine they would tell her to say the story that he told her to say, but of course they wouldn't know if she was or not.

I'm not saying I'm right It's just what I thought at the time.

That's what I thought too. He chose that story because only the 2 of them know what he's talking about. If she radios back in an hour and tells him a different story he'd know the others had gotten her and were forcing her to "play along".
Ah. Gotcha. That makes sense.
I think Kate is going to need another pregnancy test soon....

Ok. Am I the only one who thought Jack's stragegy was lame?

When he changed his mind about the surgery I was totally expecting him to say "I'll do it first thing tomorrow with a fully stocked operating room - and KATE and SAWYER - FULLY ARMED - standing safely at the observation window, or else your man will die like a slaughtered animal."

With that much bargaining power in his hands, the best he could come up with is "Hey! Let Kate run off into the jungle by herself." Yeah right.

(edited to add fully armed. )

Ooooh, Queen Bee, great phrasing! You should be a new writer on the show.
