That necklace was a gift from an online friend of mine... I don't know where she got it. She wore it while she was birthing and said it was incredibly, incredibly special to her. She wouldn't let anyone else touch it, but after my first son died she felt compelled to give it to me and sent it along in an envelope. I wore it off and on through my pregnancy when I felt I needed a boost and a reminder that I can do this - and then all through my labour.
