tight jeans

I got up this morning and pulled on my favorite jeans. Immediately I thought they were a little snug, but I just washed them, so they'll stretch out a bit, right?

Nope. Here I am at home for lunch to change out of my favorite jeans. Thankfully I have a few pairs of no panel maternity jeans in my cloest. *sigh* Just shy of six weeks and already I can't stand anything even remotely snug on my belly. I see yoga pants in my future.

Oh mama! I'm sorry about your fav pair, but they are a memory that will return at some point after June I pulled on my scrubs this morning and thought that same thing....these feel snug. Ahhhhh. I'm not ready for maternity clothes yet. Not at all.

Yep me too!!! Soooooo not ready to start wearing fat pants but mine are getting snug! I'm convincing myself that its bloat and will go back to normal soon... right??

All week, my clothes fit just fine in the morning and are no fun at all by evening. Bloating is icky. Fortunately, it usually waits until I've gotten home from work so that helps, at least a little.

I've been in my fat clothes for over a week now. I know maternity pants are in my near future. I was in maternity pants sometime before 12 weeks with DS. Maybe it was 10 weeks? :

I was still in my regular pants in April for a late August baby last time... (I filled out quite enthusiastically after that, but that's a different story).

Something tells me it's not going to be the same this time... fat pants, here I come!!

Last pregnancy I lost 13 pounds during the first trimester (but by the end of my pregnancy I was 55 pounds ABOVE my pre-preg weight....ugh). I don't know what will ahppen this time but my weight was actually a pound or two lower than I expected these past weeks (extra work hours so I've been eating junk, but my weight wasn't going up at all).

But if my last preg is anything to go by, my "regular" pants will be a thing of the past in a month or so. I have some of those transitional pants from the Target Liz Lange line that worked really well last time for the "my pants don't fit but maternity clothes are a joke".

as of yesterday, i've made the move to maternity pants - mostly for comfort b/c the majority of my day to day work clothes were a little on the tight side to begin with but also a little vanity because i'd rather not have things bulging over the top of my pants and nobody knows about the handy 'low rise panel' but me (and all of you).

and shirts? forget about it. between the bbs and the belly, most of my tops just aren't working anymore.

besides maternity clothes have come a long way and i happen to have a good friend who was pg for the same seasons last year and had generously given me all of her stuff.

yoga pants sound great too...are there any brands/types that can 'dress up' a little to be okay for a semi casual work environment?

fitting better in all my clothes. Of course I just finished losing 20 lbs and never went shopping. I will not hesitate to wear maternity clothes when it gets to that point.

DH had been teasing me before we found out I was preggo that my jeans were a bit tight...I didn't by new fatter ones, but I know I will be bringing up that box labeled "fat pants/maternity clothes" from the basement. Last pregnancy, I put them on around 10 weeks....I hate feeling fat!!!

I had DP dig out my maternity clothes box today and I'm wearing maternity jeans right now. Ahhhh, no more sucking in or pants digging into my belly. They feel so nice

I am new to the mothering discussion board. I am due around June 1st. All of a sudden my jeans are bothering right at the button. Ouch.

I am going to have to use the trick my Mom used to use when I was a kid and my jeans were getting to tight--the old rubber band looped around the buttton, put through the button hole and back.

Not quite there yet but I am definately noticing bloat this week.

I think one reason my pants are still okay is that I started South Beach several months ago and lost about 15 pounds...but I didn't buy new pants. So I've got a ten-15 pound margin built into my wardrobe already.

I did pull out my two bags of maternity clothes and transitional clothes and it looks like I need to hit the local mama thrift store for a few winter weight shirts I can wear to work.

Welcome Cara! Feel free to browse around the June DDC! Glad to have you here.

Yeah, I've been thinking that things fit a bit tightly. When DS was around 9-12 mos. old, I was actually below pre-pg weight from all that nursing. So I bought skinny pants/jeans! Now I'm regretting it as there's NO built-in margin of error anymore, and even before getting pg again I was back to my usual weight, so the pants were already starting to feel a bit tight!

Never before in my life have I had weight fluctuations so this is all a bit odd to me!

it's so great to know you other mamas are going through the same thing! i noticed this weekend that the jeans are getting rather tight! i even notice a little bump (even if i'm the only one who thinks so!) it's definitely time for yoga pants. i can't believe it though- i swear with ds i noticed no change until about 4 months! anyone else experiencing that with #2?

I went to target today and bought two pairs of yoga pants and a pair of the under-the-belly maternity pants...i'm relieved to have options besides the three skirts i've been wearing the last couple of weeks! I am not sucking it in the fourth time around!!

Okay, add me to the list. As of yesterday I started to have welts around my belly from my jeans.

Yikes.

I like wearing maternity jeans now because they are so comfortable but my shirts and getting too short and you can see the elastic waist. I'm back in my regular jeans today because all of my longer shirts are dirty They are sooo TIGHT! I ordered something similar to the Bella Band so I can wear it under my regular shirts to cover up the top of my maternity jeans but it's not here yet. It's from an MDC WAHM and it was half the price of the bella band! I'll let you all know how I like it when I get it (if anyone's interested).
