tight jeans - Page 2

i am in my Fat clothes but see i will need to get out the box of maternity clothes soon
post #22 of 37
Happily, like someone else mentioned, I lost about 15 pounds earlier this year before TTC, so my post-DS-post-weightloss pants are loose enough to be tolerable.

I didn't need MATERNITY clothes until I was well along with DS (1st pg), but I remember that I couldn't bear anything tight around my waist only a few weeks in. I wore yoga pants A LOT. Mine were my sister-in-law's maternity hand-me-downs, so I don't know where they were from, but I wore them until about 8 months along, then all through transition, and I can still wear them now!

I'm really bumming about the fact that I'm starting this pg 20# heavier than the last one I had gotten down to within 3 pounds of pp weight while nursing, but gained it all back. I'm REALLY struggling with starting a pg at 179#. How do I get myself to just accept this? Of course I'm not going to diet (which my stupid, but loveable husband suggested,) but I will try not to go crazy with food.

Also, I'm exercising with this one, which I didn't with the 1st. Hoping that will help keep me from feeling like a cumbersome whale for the next 9 months.

I had gastric bypass surgery years ago, so my stomach - mostly lower - has a big roll of fat, making it hard to notice a pg stomach. What I wouldn't give to have a tight little bump!

Sorry for the freakish vent... just struggling with my head right now.

Just visiting from May again....
I have a fantastic pair of pants from Garage Clothing Company that FIT like yoga pants but are obviously dress pants. The GAP tends to have nice stretchy pants too that fit almost like yoga pants too. Just make sure the waistband has some stretch to it as well, and doesn't have the reinforced flat insert in it otherwise they stretch in the butt but not in the waist and are still not comfy.

I'm bummin' about the weight right now too. I had lost down to pp weight, but gained every last pound back nursing. Now I'm starting this pregnancy heavier than I want to and I hope my maternity clothes will fit ok. I haven't tried on my pp jeans because they were a bit tight to begin w/ and I was avoiding buying fat pants, but I think I have to now...
I'm working out too, but haven't in the last week because I've been so tired and felt pukey. The last thing I wanted to do was get really hot.
Here's a toast to big beautiful bellies - whatever shape they may be in...

I just got back into my fav jeans after having DS. The shorts I normally wear are already getting snug. I still fit comfortably into the ones that were a bit looser recently.

I'm not going to push it and try to continue getting into these smaller ones. I have comfortable ones to wear, so I'll stick with those. I have a feeling I'll be in maternity clothes within the next few months. I'm trying to keep up with exercising so that it's not due to fat build up more than baby.

I swear I'm already showing and I'm only 5 1/2 weeks pregnant. My husband says I'm crazy, but I see the bump when I look in the mirror and all my clothes are tight. I didn't wear materinty until 2nd trimester the first pregnancy, so it's so weird!!

I think the only thing that's saving me now is the low-rise pant style...my slight pooch is unaffected!

yesterday, my favorite-wear-them-all-the-time jeans felt tight! wah!! gotta get some new comfy pants. no where near ready for maternity yet, but i don't want anything tight on me either.

I like the low-rise pants too, but I'm having trouble with my shirts too! Already I'm up more than one full cup size and it's only 6 weeks. DH and I have been keeping this a secret but people who know me are getting suspicious. No, I didn't have a boob-job.

I know someone else in this DDC posted about being a member of the SCA (medieval re-enactment group.)

Today, our family attended a small local event. I have to say, wearing my layers of loose linen and wool tunics has made me more comfortable than anything else I've put on since I started to feel pg.

Maybe I can convince people I'm just wearing modern muu-muus?

Heyla Willo! I'm the fellow SCAdian. I was at an SCA wedding not long ago and my viking style tunic was just about the loveliest thing ever in terms of comfort and ease. Somehow I I think people might notice if I wore it to work though!

Im just about out of clothes... none of my jeans fit; in fact, I'm really starting to wonder (since this is a total surprise and I wasn't charting) if I'm actually a few weeks ahead of where I thought I was.... I guess we'll have to do the ol' U/S dating thing.... and I guess tomorrow's second HcG levels will give us a clue too.

I had one pair of dressy pants that had that fold down stretch waist that have been too big; I have a feeling they'll be my lifesaver, as NONE of my other pants fit at all. One pair of DH's old Levi's still button but are not comfy. I also have a knit pair of workout pants and a pair of nylon workout pants. Ugh. Talk about wardrobe deprived.....

But, it is all for a good cause!!!

Of course, with Halloween fast approaching, you could claim you are just celebrating early.

How big is your medieval wardrobe?

I literally didn't change out of my garb until I put on my pajamas last night, and we were home before 5pm. Of course, DS didn't want to change either. He says, "I look FANTASTIC in my tunic! Like a boy dancer who spins!" So cute.

I was also in garb this weekend, although just for a Ren Fair. Mmm, low flowing skirts and tunics are a wonderful combination. Unfortunately, I think if I tried going to work like that (elementary school) my student's would be too busy laughing and asking questions to get anything done.

So far so good on the pants front still. One one pair that was tight before I got pregnant is out, but that's no surprise. My jeans are all lower cut and stretchy and that's such a blessing right now. Not in the way at all. The only problem I'm finding is that they tend to ride even lower now. Got to be careful about shirts!

I got rid of a lot of clothes just last month.

Like I said earlier, I lost some weight this past year, actually down about 10 pounds less than before I got pg with my son. (Of course, my belly is still bigger than it was back then. My pooch seems to be permanent.)

So I've been watching too much "What Not To Wear", and I tried on EVERY ITEM OF CLOTHING in my closet and dresser, looked in the mirror, and got rid of unflattering items. It was a great relief to donate several boxes of stuff... but a lot of that ugly, baggy stuff would be so comfy right now!

But I know I did the right thing. I still have some comfortable clothes that made the cut. I certainly noticed that I felt better about myself a lot more often when I didn't have the option to put on something scummy on a day when I already felt scummy.

But I miss my saggy-butt-stretchy-pants sometimes.
