Sue- no rocks, just ((((HUGS))))) I also have LMS, I am lucky though, Domperidone does the trick for me. I got a 8 month supply for $120, much cheaper than formula for me.

I figure she is gonna ff anyway so I may as well use up some of the formula co. resources
btw the coupons have codes on them, I wonder if they track which customer uses the coupons.
I received 2 $11.00 and 10 $5.00 checks I hate to admit this, but we really needed some extra cash for Christmas for the girls and I sold them on ebay. I have never received another one since. oh, I also checked exclusivly breastfeeding

When I had my son, I filled someting out to get some free stuff, and marked the EBF box, thinking they wouldn't send me formula if I marked that. Not only did I end up with 9 FULL SIZED "sample" cans of formula from various companies, but I was getting coupons for $5 & $7 off...but I was also getting coupons for free formula up to a certain amount of $$.
I haven't filled anything out this time around, so I'll be curious to see what I get in the mail, if anything.

Mamas, please don't advocate selling the checks or samples here.

Mothering Magazine and MDC have a strong commitment to the World Health Organization’s International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes, which recognizes that advertising formula reduces the number of children that are breastfed and the duration of breastfeeding. The purpose of the code is "contribute to the provision of safe and adequate nutrition for infants, by the protection and promotion of breast-feeding, and by ensuring the proper use of breast-milk substitutes, when these are necessary, on the basis of adequate information and through appropriate marketing and distribution." Keeping this in mind, advocating formula feeding by choice is not permitted on the Lactivism board or any other forum at MDC. Additionally, advocating the redistributing or selling of formula coupons, samples, or other freebies is strongly discouraged.

The WHO code is for everyone.

If you do chose to send them to a low supply mama, please make arrangements off the board. Thanks!

Yep, I think it's true. Until last year I received RIDICULOUS amounts of formula samples and coupons, and I mean MONTHLY crap, to my door. I always checked "exclusively breastfeeding" on all enfamil/similac/nestle questionnaires.

I EBF Spencer, but we get the Similac checks on occasion. I put up an offer on Freecycle the first time I got one, and have kept the emails from people who responded. Whenever I get another one, I send an email to the next person on my list, asking if they are still interested. If so, I mail it off the next day.

When I had my first child I signed up for everything. So I did fill out questioneres stating that I was exclusively breastfeeding.

All the formula companie were relentless. They sent me discounts and coupons for free formula.

One day I took about 4 free coupons and went to the store with them, then I donated the formula. AFter that the coupons stopped coming.

I guess they all thought they got me

I received a $0.25 and $0.75 coupon from GoodStart I breastfeed, but I don't know if they know or not.

I signed up for the clubs.

With my first I remember getting deliveries of full size cans of formula as free samples. They must have sent me about 4 of these full sized ones. I was shocked by how much they sent me.

With my second I also signed up. My cousin had a kid on nutramegen (one of the most expensive formulas) at the same time. His kid reacted to the other stuff so they had to buy this exact one. He tried about 3 times to sign up for the clubs. I tried signing him up for the clubs and he still didn't get anything. I don't know if they had a technical glitch or if they purposely never signed him up since they knew he had to use their formula and one of the most expensive ones too. Finally, he got enrolled. He was in a different state so perhaps this is why they were different, or perhaps it was because I said EBF and he said "nutramegen"...I don't know. He received $1, $2 and $3 coupons that were only for the cheaper formulas he couldn't use anyway. I, the marked as EBF one, got $3, $4 and $5 coupons that were good for ANY formula.

Could there be a difference because we're in different states? Perhaps. All I know is that I received much larger coupons for ANY formula when I was EBF. My cousin had trouble signing up in the first place and he received smaller coupons that weren't even good for the brand he said he was using.
