Hello ~

For all of you that Raynauds/vasospasm, does your nipples hurt or are sore when not vasospasming? I am having vasospasms and my nipples are sore as well during the day. ???? Any thoughts?

Thank you!! ~ Rachel

yes mine were sore all the time. Keeping them warm helps. I also used Lilypadz to minimize chafing.

My understanding is that the vasospasm can also be caused by ongoing nipple trauma or irritation. That is, that it can be a result of another problem, and not the original problem itself. So you might look for other causes if you are having all-the-time soreness, and fixing that could lead to improvement in the vasospasms.
This was my experience with my first baby, with whom I had a lot of nipple pain and cracking due to bad latch - after a week or so, I developed vasospasms. Once the latch was corrected, the trauma and the vasospasms resolved, and didn't recur with him or with the next baby.
Sorry you are in pain! I hope you find something that helps, and soon. Nipple pain is miserable.

They are a silicone breast pad that some women use to stop leakage. I used them to protect my nipple from chafing.

I started to have pain due to thrush- used to only have pain during the vasospasms. When the thrush was finally treated, that pain went away. So, definitely look into other causes like thrush, which is easily treated with nystatin ointment and other ways as well.

Thank you jenny-g for your response! I do believe that it is being caused by thrush! I finally after a month of trying and going to different doctors think that I might have the right meds to help. I am keeping my fingers crossed!! Thanks again!!
