What's everybody eating?

I've just been trying to eat a variety of healthy stuff. I roasted a turkey breast the other day so I've been eating turkey sandwiches (with the last of the tomatoes from the garden) and turkey noodle soup. I've been heading for the orange juice in the fridge, looks like this is going to be another pregnancy of craving citrus. And I've been DYING for some spinach, but am staying away from it for now . Last night I had a really yummy eggplant and beef and peapod dish from our local Chinese restaurant.

What are you mamas eating???

I've been really craving yogurt and other dairy lately.

Mostly what does NOT sound good is hard-core sugar - cookies, cake, candy, etc. Although I did have some Junior Mints the other night, and they were okay.....it was probably the mint.

I've also been drinking a lot more water than usual. That's the only specific thing I've noticed so far. At mealtimes, I have been doing the run-through on what's in our fridge/cupboards/pantry/freezer and I'll just eat what doesn't sound pukey at the moment. It changes though....what's yukky for one meal is okay the next day. Who knows?!?

Lots of fruit and veggies - another OJ fiend, here!

And pickles. Pickles, pickles, pickles. There are 3 varieties in the fridge right now!

How stereotypical is that??

ANYTHING!!!!! Oh my goodness I've just been starving! Even after I eat I still want something else
I really want steak... I even made dh BBQ some up for breakfast the other day (hes so good to me). I think because I have low iron I might crave it more. Other then that pretty much everything sounds good and right now! hummm I see some serious weight gain coming my way right now :

It's so odd. Aside from needing a morning and afternoon snack, nothing's really changing for me. I'd gotten good about drinking tons and tons of water over the summer so I've kept that up. Even snacking isn't a change for me, since I usually try to have something between meals. My stomach's always been picky and sensitive so I'm used to not letting it get too empty. I don't need much for a snack, just a little something.

Can I start having some food cravings, please?

Slices of mozzerela cheese topped with fresh homemade salsa.

Mozzerela Tomatoe salad.....its cubed mozzerela, chunks of tomatoe, diced onion, chopped cilantro, and chunks of avacado mixed together with a basil vinegrette dressing...mmmmm

Chicken Guacamole pizza.....basically chicken pizza using guacamole as a base instead of a pizza sauce.......mmmmmm

In my first pregnancy, I totally confused my husband when I asked him for a steak -- I'd been a vegetarian for YEARS!!!!

I haven't had any cravings, but I have NOT felt like eating sweet, sugary or chocolately stuff, which is unusual for me. I've also been drinking a ton more water than I usually do.

Last night for dinner, I had a bowl of popcorn. It's the thing that sounded the best!

Last night we made a roast chicken (a salt and rosemary glaze) with baked potato and sweet potato. Oh, and ginger carrots. Yummy! So today I've been picking bits of that to put on home made bread.

But the day before I went to the all you can eat chinese buffet and stuffed myself on sweet/sour chicken, eggdrop soup, and spicy greenbeans. So not exactly healthy!

I've been doing oatmeal for breakfast to keep my milk supply up, but other than that nothing unusual yet. Not like last time where my first trimester was entirely tater tots, ground beef (after years of vegetarian living), and lime popsicles.

I've been drinking a ton of water! And drinking Naked smoothies everyday. I'm eating alot of crackers and things like that. Filler food, not much value. It's hard because my appetite has gone down hill. I really craved beef jerky the past few days and gave in to that.

Nothing out of the ordinary; however, I have been drinking more organe juice which I usually have once in a while.

I had the best Tinga Pollo Gordita from a mexican stand last night. I've been dreaming about it all day. Other than that: dill pickles and peanut butter, apples and I'm dying for some rainbow chard. My garden is done, but I've got to find some chard!!! I'm loving fresh and raw. My favorite salad is a raw peeled white sweet potato chopped fine in the food processor, raw carrot done the same way, little green onions, kalmata olives, peas and bell peppers with a homemade olive oil/tahini/salad dressing topped with feta. Yummy!!! I like a lot of quinoa salad too. I"m getting hungry...
I'm missing my apple wine. I just went to the local vinyard/winery and bought my couple of bottles and now have to abstain...I'm so sad.

No cravings yet, but my portion is double. I'm thirsty almost every hour, and have been drinking lots and lots of water.: I long to have a glass of beer :.

I've been craving a lot of baked potatoes lately. I like them loaded with butter and sour cream :

I have also completely lost my sweet tooth. I went to a wedding and a birthday party this weekend and couldn't even stand near people eating cake. Garlic and herbal tea are the only cravings I've had. Mostly, food doesn't really appeal to me these days. Usually, I can't think of anything BUT food, so this is a very strange experience.

Right now I'm eating a bag of dry honey nut cheerios and it's doing wonders for my nausea I lived on dry cheerios my last pregnancy too.

Update - I'm off pickles. Now it's gouda.

<Sigh> What am I going to do with the three jars of pickles in my fridge? Hope the craving comes back . . .

Still on OJ, though. . . .

Christine
