2007 Treasure Mapping? When will it be? - Page 18

Thank you, ladies. This is giving me the idea of just finding one or two images that resonate with me and putting them in the child place. I like the idea of focusing on good health. I have been taking good care of myself lately and I don't want to forget that.

J -we cross posted so I in case you didn't see it, my previous post has a good idea.

Thanks, goodcents, we cross posted

I like that. I actually do think of babies as little souls waiting to come to us... I use the angels section for affirmations of love and guidance. I usually write my parents names and such there too. That's a good idea.

I'm going to throw this out here so I don't bring down the new thread. We have been trying to make a baby for awhile now. I have had this on my treasure map for 2 or 3 years now. I've had some fertility tx done also. I just got my period again today and am feeling kinda depressed about it. I am planning on doing a new treasure map and am not sure where to put the baby. I don't want to put it all over, or even fill in one whole area (I use the bagua design). Is there like a little soul area of the map and I can put a special image in? I want to include it, I just feel depressed thinking about doing it the same this year (not that it's ever been all over the map). We obviously have other dreams and plans too. Any suggestions?
I sympathize because after 7 yrs of trying and doing medical treatment I had a baby who is almost 4 now. I am trying for number 2 at 41 yrs old. Have you seen "the secret"? http://www.thesecret.tv/home.html It is about the Law of Attraction everyone is talking about. I mention this because in all the yrs of trying to get pregnant I could never "see" myself pregnant. The health portion of this DVD spoke to me. There is someone with breast cancer who "believed" she was healed and kept saying"Thank you for my healing". To keep stress out she was watching funny videos and bringing laughter into her house. I have been doing this about with my pregnancy......saying "thank you for my healing. Thank you for my pregnancy and really "FEELING IT". I stopped watching the news and started looking for funny things to watch. I NEVER felt so optimistic in all my years of trying to concieve as now. I hope this help!

I'm so glad to have found this thread! I pop on to mothering every now and again, but mostly stay in the food forum. Somehow I was directed here and am thrilled.

We will be doing treasure maps this year. I've done similar things in the past, more along the lines of visual or collage journals, but the treasure map idea really appeals to me.

My boys (12 and 10) are doing one. I've been teaching them about the LoA for years and it comes so naturally to them. My 4 yo is excited to do one, too, lol.

Dh and I will be doing one together, one for our business and then our individual ones. We plan to use a large art book and add maps each year so we can look back on previous years easily. We plan to keep it out at all times and look over it daily and do affirmations. Those who have done maps before, do you think it would be problematic to make several maps separating our business desires from our personal and individuals desires? Thoughts?
oh no, we're supposed to do special sections?? what does that mean? what are they and where do they go, and why do they go in that particular place? on the map, i mean??

my house is SO not decluttered. i have been working slowly at it where i was just looking at it in despair, before, though.
i am having someone come in to help me crisis clean before my family gets here for easter, though. YAY. that will help. then i have....what, a week? after that. to work on decluttering the rest. it will be better next year, i'm sure! i will have a whole year to work on actively decluttering!

thanks,
pamela

That's cool, Pamela! Thanks. I like the idea of putting it on the map, and also of writing one every new moon. Very cool.

OMG! So, it took me about a WEEK, but I finally read ALL the posts in this thread!

So, Hi! I am really excited about Treasure Mapping. First off, I love to make collages, and second, I really love the idea that you put your desires, wishes, dreams out there into the Universe so they can be acknowledged as well as forcing YOU to focus on what you want.

Dh is even going to do this with me! I'm super excited about THAT! Next year, I'll probably get ds involved, too (he's 2, so he would just eat the glue! )

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and that I am eagerly trying to straighten up and thinking about the TM to prepare.

Tracy, you siggie makes me Kegel everytime I see it or even think about astrology! That's good though!

FYI, although I know that when we make our TMs, our desires will manifest themselves, but I have some general ideas:

Me, getting even skinnier (and also getting my cholesterol lower, as the total level is 204 (found out from giving blood) although I have no idea what my HDL levels are, so who knows?) and focusing to finish my PhD. Me, growing spiritually and mentally. Being open to the abundances of the Universe. Etc!

Dh finding a job he loves.

Ds being in a school type setting (even if it is simply remaining in his current dc) that he loves and helps him learn to his maximum potential.

My house: getting Marmoleum (or SOME type of new NON carpet flooring!)

My finances: getting out of DEBT and allowing the money that the Universe wants me to have flow easily into my life.

I also want to do a couple little fun material things. Right now I'm thinking a new pair of Birks (just to give you an idea of what I mean by that...not a yacht or something! ) but I'm excited to see what I want during the window.

Firstly, welcome, Petersmama!

Flooring: I've done some research on sustainable flooring since we were going to do our new house, and might I suggest cork? It comes from the bark of trees, is completely sustainable, and the kind we bought was click flooring, so quite easy to install. Also? Is quite easy on the pocketbook. The place we got ours still has it on sale, PM me if you'd like more info.

Finances: When you do this part, I highly recommend focusing on what you DO want rather than what you don't want. So rather than focusing on getting out of debt (which focuses on debt), focus on financial abundance. Last year I found a great image of a smiling overflowing piggy bank for my map - I love that image!

Lastly, my darling, if you want a yacht, then put a yacht on your map!

Well, we can't really afford it right now, but I'll PM you anyway. Who knows? Maybe the person we find selling it will need a science tutor for a kid or want to barter for my amazing brownies!

OK, yeah. I got that from ALL the other posts. I was definitely going to put something like "Money flows to me effortlessly" or "My income grows daily" or something, but I also think I would have put something about getting out of debt. What about doing the Dave Ramsey thing and putting a written "I"m debt free!" yell on my TM?

I actually DON'T want a yacht. Dh wants a boat, and I don't even want that! As far as material things go, sometimes I feel like I want everything, but then when I try to pin down what those things are, I can't actually think of a specific thing. I do want a new pair of Birks. I have seen some really CUTE ones lately, not quite as clunky as the older styles!

I have a question about mapping. I don't post here but watch and read it almost daily. How would you map happiness at work? Or work location? Just a little background...I like my job ok, but they have moved my location 40 miles away from my home, which I have been very bitter about for the last year. I can not quit or changes jobs for financial reasons, but I am tired of being so upset about going and coming from work. I have a hour commute with no traffic, but the afternoons with traffice take 2 hours. There is a office (with my company) that is closer, my DH works there and DD is in daycare that is 5 mins from that office. So should I put something on my map about the other location, or happiness at my present location. I know this is not a big thing, especially when I step back and look at all the blessings in my life, but it wears on me daily! I cry all the way home on a weekly basis, any suggestions on how to put this on my map?

Thanks,
Casie

Actually, this IS a huge thing. My commute is between 1-3 hours each day and it SUCKS. But I'm getting my PhD, so it's not really like I can do that somewhere else, so I just have to suck it up till I finish.

I think you should do a TM with something about how your work is close to your home or something. I know someone with more experience can weigh in on this issue, but I just wanted to tell you not to demean this....you are spending YEARS of your life in a car (my suggestions to make it better: PODCASTS! I actually look forward to my commute when I get to listen to This AMerican Life)

ETA: Maybe you can manifest this not as a total job CHANGE, but maybe you could telecommute or work different hours. I used to go in at 5 a.m. and leave at noon, and my commute would take just 25-30 min one way. Maybe there's a way you could just get out of traffic.

You never know - really! I had no idea if we'd ever be able to afford some of the things I put on my map last year, and I definitely had no idea HOW. The fun is in the dreaming of it, the living in possibility - the how is all up to the Universe.

I'm noe living in the exact cohousing community I put on my map, and I have my wood floors (also on my map), and my digital SLR (also on my map). When I put them there every single one of them was pie-in-the-sky as far as I was concerned, but I was told to think big, so I did. And here I am on the other side of it being amazed at how that turned out!

The focus there is still on debt. My suggestion for a yell would be more like, "Money flows to me like a waterfall!" or, "I'm financially abundant!" or "We have more than enough money for everything we want!"

I didn't think you did - I meant in a figurative sense of not to limit yourself But you knew that.

You're going to have those Birks in no time.

Firstly,

Some folks even include affirmations on their map, and for this one it strikes me as a good idea. First think about the feeling you want. Think really hard about what a short commute would mean to you - what it would give you. See that, and think about how that feels to you. Then use that feeling to create your affirmation.

Dream Big! This will be my 5th year of doing these and when I started the things I put down I definetly couldn't afford but somehow they arrived. Some things have taken time but they have arrived! My cruise hasn't happened yet but it will! My kids love to do them. One year they all put babies on theirs and a weekl before the following Aries new moon I found out I was pregnant!

Does anyone else save theirs? I love looking at the old ones and I can't bring myslef to throw them out.

Question from a newbie for those who have done TMs before :

What size was your TM and where did you put it?
So, I've ALSO been reading the LoA stuff (and OMG. Those weekly threads just GROW!!). Well, after reading here about how I WILL get my Birks, I just decided to do a quick google search.

Guess what?? I found the EXACT kind I want (not the right color....I wanted taupe, but got navy instead since they were sold out of taupe) for $40.00!!! Craziness! That is something like 55% off the retail price! So, I bought them!

Now I have to start dreaming about OTHER material things I might want to put on a TM!

Mine was usually about 14 inches by 12 inches. I put it on my desk or near it since that is where I spend the bulk of my work-at-home day.
