Anyone else breastfeeding from one boob? - Page 2

my SIL nursed her kids until they were 3.5 and she did the last 2.5 years on one boob. I would continue to offer the "affected side" to let dc get what ever they can, but I would do so after they are done with the good side so they are not fusterated.

one sided nurse

i too am 'firing only one torpedo'
due to an absess drained in OR (never had mastisis symptoms, just a weird lump)
i tried to get 'lefty' up and running again, by pumping, stimulation, etc, but found that nursing one side is working fine!

Waybaby is 9 months old now, been nursing on one side for 7 months!
my lopsided-ness has diminished somewhat, now that he has started solids.

the first few weeks i did supplement, but not for awhile now.

for me, to increase supply, i found that oatmeal for breakfast every morning works wonders! i fill up a bowl with old fashioned oats, put some raisins (or craisns, or dried fruit or nuts or chocolate chips if i'm feeling wicked) fill it up with milk and then i microwave for one minute, just to soften up the oats. yummmmmmm.

good luck folks!

I mostly nurse one sided. DD has never liked my right side, and it has always been a poor produce.

Many kudos to you who do it exclusively one sided!

Mostly one sided here for all 4 babies. Right side seems to produce ok (get engorged the same at the beginning), just doesn't come out as well for some reason. My nip is slightly off looking on that side, so maybe an anatomical difference. Around 2 mos or so, they start rejecting (or at least not spending much time there), and we are mostly left siders.

While nap nursing, I can slip that side in--it makes a great pacifier.

I'm lop-sided while nursing, but once they wean, both sides are the same again.

My LC nurses her third baby with just one breast. Both breasts worked fine for her first two children, but her third, the one just never produced milk.
