Nursing caries?

how common is this? Should I night wean my 21 mo old? everything I have read in LLL material says - nursing caries don't really happen and that it is more of a bottle fed thing, that human milk is antibacterial, and that nursing caries are usually in the back of the mouth. but I've also read of a lot of caries in the front, top teeth here in this forum. I am so lost. I feel like I should wean, but it breaks me heart when DS asks for "na-nas" in the night and I contemplate not giving them to him. It also breaks my heard to think of him having to undergo extensive dental procedures and not having two top teeth for 7 years to so.

Help!!!

There is evidence that dental caries isnt always caused by milk/food in teeth, but rather problems with the diet. There are many mamas here that are healing dental problems with nutrition, hopefully one of them will pipe up!

My son had dental surgery under GA about a month and a half ago. After we found out that he had poor enamel and some decay i freaked out. Our dentist tried to push fluoride on us and convince me to quit night nursing. I started reading the thread on here about curing cavaties through nutrition. I also took my son to a naturopath. Since then we have made incredible diet changes, introduced cod liver oil, and started giving him calcarea phos. and calcarea flour. tablets. he has had no further decay and i feel his teeth are getting stronger. I also feel our families health is a lot better. I had thought before that we were eating a healthy balanced diet, but the more research I did the more changes we have made. I'm really happy. Check out that thread it is really long but well worth it and check out the Weston Price Foundation website. There is also an article that comes up on the mothering search engine called Nursing and Big Bad Cavaties or something like that and it is good to read too.
