Any fans of MATRIX out there also eagerly waiting for release of Matrix II & III this summer??
I hope I won't be disappointed!!
When I was expecting dd1, I thot of Trinity as a name, and initally dh liked it, until I told him where the inspiration came from, then he was like, "No..... maybe not such a good idea!!"
Now I am expecting dd2, and this name pops up again, lol!!

Oh yes yes yes!!! Can't wait. I may even buy the computer game!!! I love all things cyberpunk. I'm waiting for the new Gibson book from the library as we speak (although I hear it isn't cyberpunk).

If you like this sort of story and haven't checked out Pat Cadigan's synners you should. It's a good novel and the women are the main characters.

well, my dh is perhaps awaiting it a little more eagerly than i....but who am i fooling, i'll keep the baby while he goes out to see it and then i'll just have to wait for it on video, as there's no way I'm taking the baby with or leaving him with a sitter! :

Me too Jane. Just can't part with my guy for that long, especially since I have to be away for so much during the week.
I can't wait to see it on video though. I wish, when they released DVDs that they always include the orginal when they release the 2nd. Wouldn't that be cool? An automatic box-set!

It's hard when they're small. DS will be 2 at the end of the month so I don't mind letting him stay with grandma while we see a movie. Often though we see movies on our own while the other parent stays home with him. I think we've seen 2 movies together in the last 2 years- Lord of the Rings and Star Trek.

Cielle, thanks for the recommendation! I'll definitely check it out!!

oh, Jane, I know how you feel..... dd was abt 18 mths before I left her alone with dh. We have NOT seen a movie together yet!! We only went to a Cirque du Soleil performance a few months back becoz it was my birthday, and A VERY TRUSTED FREN 7 HER DH took care of dd!! Now I know why someone once told me, if her fren is starting a family, she does not expect to see much of them for 5 years!!!!

DH and I are very very impatiently waiting for this to come out. We think it's weird that we haven't seen a single commercial for it yet. My due date is about the time that's it's scheduled to open!!!
You can probably expect to go into labor the day it opens then! My husband had been waiting and waiting for the movie Driven to open (god knows why) and of course the friday it opened was the day I went into labor. He never saw it until it came out on video...

We don't have cable right now so I don't know about the TV advertising but they've been getting a ton of print coverage, from Newsweek to EW to the men's mags. They probably don't need to spend bunches of $$ on TV ads because everyone already knows it's coming. They'll probably hit at the beginning of May just to remind us of the date.

Mine is already to line up the babysitter so we can go. I want to see it, but not as badly as dh. We never went to see Harry Potter in the theater, but we have it on dvd now and we'll be watching that soon.

i can't wait, but i've purposely avoided the online trailers--i don't want to see a thing before!!!

Of course I am

I, too, am eagerly awaiting the Matrix sequels -- especially since Gina Torres is in them. I became a fan of hers during Joss Whedon's Firefly -- such a shame it crashed & burned

A suggestion to you Mamas who don't want to leave your little one's behind -- Drive - In. If you have one in your area, they are great. Last summer we saw Spider-Man that way. Just nursed ds to sleep and held him in my arms. It was great fun and quite the trip down memory lane for dh (he first saw Star Wars at the Drive-In when he was a lad). Hmmm, maybe that's how we will go and see the Matrix Movies.

There is no spoon.....

Yes. It may end up being the first film dh and I will see together since dd was born (23 months ago).

And if I ever have a few thousand in spare cash lying around (heh), I GOTTA have Morpheus' jacket (or get it made)!

There is one advantage to waiting for the movie on DVD, however - bonus features!!
I can never watch long enough to get to the bonus features - when we watch a DVD after putting dd to bed, it's a miracle if dd stays asleep long enough for me to reach the ending (she sleeps fine...just as long as I'm right next to her! : ).

My dh the enginerd rigged double headphones attached to the amp so Evan can sleep in my lap while we finish watching a movie. We actually got to see Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets the other night!

Marlena, I now have this image in my head that you look like Trinity with the long leather jacket, short slicked back hair, and shades - not to mention an arsenal that would make a lifetime member of the NRA proud!

Mini-vent here: it annoys me no end that the falling Japanese characters in the preview (the green electronic letters) are backwards. How hard would it have been to ask a Japanese speaker which way they should go?

We are SO excited for this to come out!! Of course, I am due soon so we'll probably end up getting it on DVD :

Did someone say something about a computer game coming out? Is it for PC's? Do tell...

Sure is:

This was one of the two options I gave DH for a mother's day gift. Yep, the matrix game or a one day yoga-meditation-storytelling retreat that's happening here for mother's day.

Ain't the internet grand? I'm actually a little, winzened old man who lives in a dingy, sparsely furnished studio apartment in New Jersey with an ancient parakeet as my sole companion.

Seriously, though, I _wish_ I were as beautiful as Carrie-Ann Moss! Barring that, though, I sure wish I had her wardrobe from The Matrix! (other than her grey ship-wear, that is...)
