On October 2nd at 8:26 p.m. I gave birth to a 8lb 3.2 oz baby boy, I named him Isaiah Armon. Labor started bright an early at 4:19a.m Monday (10.02.2006). What I thought was just severe back pain due to my pregnancy actually turned out to be contractions that were 5 minutes apart every hour. After laying in the bed for a good 40 minutes I decided to get up, wake up the household and head to the hospital. When I got to The Birth Place at Rockdale Medical Center, I had to fill out thousands of paperwork while dealing with horrible contractions. After getting checked I was instructed I was not going back home and be expecting to deliver a baby any time today....This is not what was on my agenda for the day. I had a doctors appointment at 10:00am and I was looking forward to having another ultrasound and being told I was going to have to be induced on Wednesday (not happy about being induced but knowing i had 2 more days to psyche myself up about the labor pains). My labor did not go as planned but it was truly rewarding. After 7 hours of severe back labor due to them increasing the pitocin I finally asked for an epidural because I could not bear the pain. I wanted a natural birth but that was not going to happen. The lady who gave me the epidural worked wonders for me because I did not feel a single contraction from the moment she put the needle in my back, I couldn't even regain feeling my legs until 4:30 Tuesday morning. My midwife broke my water at 10:45am (so painful) so by 1:30 I was dilated to 4 cm and was told I would dilate a cm every hour. Well at 5:30 I was at 8 cm and at 6:00pm thats when the I was fully dilated and the "fun" began. After pushing for an hour and a half and realizing Isaiah was not descending into the birth canal I was exhausted and they asked if I wanted a cesearn section since I was not getting him out of me no time soon. I was getting prepped for surgery around 7:30pm and being in that operating room was terrifying. At 8:26 p.m I had a beautiful baby boy who I seen briefly for 3 minutes and off to the nursery he went.... 16 hours of labor....I was not able to see my baby again until 11:00p when I was out of the recovery room and in my room. By Wednesday at 2:00pm we were on our way home. I'm going to post some picture soon but first I must go get some sleep!

: I love his name.
