ergo baby carrier

i loved the baby bjorn when ds was small...mostly b/c i felt like i could use both arms easier than with a sling... how is the ergo with infants? i assume it would be great when babes are bigger b/c of the waist strap. does the infant insert they have work? is it necessary when they are small?

I personally would recommend a pouch or wrap for a newborn. But if you're set on an ERGO for an infant then yes, you'll need the insert (or fashion something similar). I *LOVE* my ERGO as does dh. He recommends them to his patients over the BB! I had to open a new package b/c we loaned ours out

thanks for the info... my ds didn't like to have his legs in the sling or wrap from the moment he was born...so the sling was useful for us once he was big enough to ride in it on my hip. i guess that's what made the bb so good for us... however, i gave mine away and thought if the ergo would work with an infant, then we'd get a lot of use out of it while baby2 grows...and could use it now with ds too.
