Periods and the moon

DH and I have tlaked about this before and neither of us is sure who's right.

When you cycle with the moon can you have your period/ovulate on EITHER the full or new moon? DH says if you are truely in sync with it you should be ovulating with the full and having your period on the new. I say it can be either or. I've been reading the Red Tent so it's really been pressing on my mind lately.

I just started my period on Saturday which happened to be the new moon. Dh and I were talking about it and he says I'm backwards.

So who is right here?

LOL! I have no idea, but I'm reading Red Tent right now too and I've been wondering the same thing. I never paid any attention to my cycle and its relation to the moon before and now I'm really curious about it. I haven't gotten ppaf yet though so I'll have to wait and see.

i'm pretty sure that ovulating the the full moon, period with the new is considered "cycling with the moon".

i know that there are lots of people who teach that simulating moon cycles can help women regulate their menstrual cycles. the theory is to sleep in a completely darkened room for all but three days, on those three days you leave a bedside lamp or bathroom/hallway door cracked to let the light shine on you as you sleep, just like a full moon. in that three day time or just after, you ovulate.

i have not tried this myself but did a lot of reading on it recently. it's really interesting!

(and yes, it was the red tent that sent me scouring the internet for all this info. )

lunaception (what the PP described) works on the theory that you ovulate with the full moon. I'm in reverse synch with the moon and tend to get af with the full moon and ovulate with the new moon. Really, with me, I just think that's by chance and not actually influenced by the celestial bodies
