They are a totally different animal than the big outdoor trampolines. The minitrampolines just don't have that much spring. They don't go high on them and while I suppose if a child made it their mission to do crazy stuff there would be a possible way to get hurt (like there is on anything). I would never get an outdoor big trampoline even though they are fun because I just think they are too dangerous. The mini trampoline just doesn't have enough spring to be dangerous. It is basically a more organized less messy version of jumping on pillows or something.

Thanks so much for all the replies. I did buy the one I originally posted (before I read the post that said it wasn't very bouncy). Hopefully DS will like it. I got it for $65 including shipping on eBay.

I did seek out a mini-adult one as people recommended, but went to Target, Wla-Mart, a sporting goods store and even Toys-R-Us. They all has them, but without a bar to hold onto, which I felt was essential for us.

Thanks again for all the input!

Target online has a small adult one with padded adjustable bar for $59.99.
My DH adjusted the handle very low for DS. DS is "high energy" and uses it constantly. We have had it for nearly 3 years now and it is still going strong.
