what brands of HVCLO do you use? What brands of BO do you use? (and has anyone found BO that isn't so expensive, but still good?)

thanks!

I only know of one brand of butter oil and that is the one sold here:

http://www.building-health.com/home.html

The 3 brands of HVCLO that are recommended by the Weston A. Price foundation are: Blue Ice, Radiant Life and Dr. Ron's. These 3 are endorsed by the WAPF because they are known to be free of heavy metals and practice a unique process that removes the metals yet preserves the natural vitamins. These 3 companies have been inspected by a WAPF member I believe so I feel confident that I'm getting a great product when I buy one of these brands. I get Blue Ice from the website above along with their butter oil.

Okay, this is a very stupid question, but I'm completely clueless on this nutrition stuff:

How do you eat/take BO and CLO? I bought blu Ice in both and am keeping them in the fridge. The CLO tastes disgusting, although DS will eat it. How do I take BO? Off the spoon as well? Any ways to disguise the flavor of CLO?

I just ordered this..... The CLO and BO are combined and I thought that was handy.

I have been putting a peach flavored CLO in DS's apple sauce and it does the trick. The one one the way is cinnamon flavor so I think I'll try the same.

BTW: Just started using these too.... DS actually likes to use them!

If caries are found in a routine dental checkup, what's a reasonable course of action to take? Get the cavities filled? Start a nutrient-dense diet and recheck the teeth in a few months before deciding whether or not to fill the caries? Any other factors to consider in the decision?
it will be interesting to here what ppl have to say about your questions here, i thought i would chime in with ancedotal evidence.
one check up my hygenist said she saw a small cavity starting in one of my teeth. i did clo and bo (bo when i remembered). did better with my diet (strive for a traditional diet) and at the next check up 6 mos later she didn't say anything about it.
not sure if that is the norm

We're using this product. We've been doing so for almost 2 weeks. I'm not sure if it's improving things yet, probably too soon to know. My son loves it though. I ordered mine from breezecare in Australia. Shipping was really, really fast!!

It was very interesting to read about your experiences. Can I just ask what the actual significance of that black decay is? I mean, does that mean it has actually stopped decaying, should it be left alone, or cleaned out and filled? I think in one of your posts you wrote that had you known what black decay signified you would have done things differently, can you elaborate please? I will PP you for those medical studies/info you mentioned regarding this. I've just discovered 2 little pinprick black holes on my daughter's molars, literally appeared overnight, so just wondering what is the significance of them being black decay in terms of the best way forward? I prefer as little intervention as possible.

Thanks in advance, Vanessa

Just a note about my product ordering experience...

I ordered the CLO/BO blend from Greenpastures.com (called Theraputics) as I noted above. I waited for four weeks and it never came. I finally canceled and ordered from Dr. Rons (drrons.com). It turns out that Dr. Rons actually gets their BO from Greenpastures. However I was told that the BO was getting ready to ship to them, so I am anxiously waiting.

A very helpful woman at Dr. Ron's named Elaine advised me that the Theraputics was not ideal for my DS since the blend provides a sufficient amount of CLO but not enough BO to really be effective. I was so glad she informed me so I did not waste the time, money, and precious time working on my DS' dental decay!

So.... I ordered the Blue Ice CLO and the X Factor Butter Oil. She recommended 1/2 tsp. of each daily for my DS (11 mo and 27 lbs). I am still waiting for them to arrive (and I am pulling my hair out since I am so anxious!)

BTW, the Spiffies Wipes (I noted above)... well, my DS hates to get his teeth wiped with them (after the first few times, the novelty wore off). But, he is happy to suck on it forever and I am fine with that!

subbing and bumping

DS had an initial exam, he is schelduled to go back next week for x-rays and 'temporary fillings', so I am here :.

PS - CLO right off the spoon? Really??

For those of you who have toddlers with tooth decay, how did you realize this? My dentist told me we didn't even have to bring DD in until she is 2, and I tend to avoid doctors, dentists, etc. Is the decay that easy to see?

Also, the butter oil IS expensive. If your child showed no sign of tooth decay, would you buy the butter oil anyway? I ordered HVCLO for DD and myself, I drink raw milk, we are working on eating more and more TF, etc. I am hoping that this is enough, since the grass fed meat is pretty tough on the wallet already!

Thanks in advance!

I serve it in a bit of organic apple sauce. I have the Blue Ice in Cinnamon flavor. It still smells pretty strong and I wouldn't eat it , but DS licks it right up! I use 1/2 tsp. in just a small amount of sauce to be sure that he will consume it all.

I usually use the BO on a piece of toast. Again, using a small piece to be sure he gets it all. It is too expensive to waste! I usually serve them together first thing in the morning so we don't have to worry about it for the rest of the day.

I noticed a brown discoloration at the top of my 10 mo old DS's two front teeth. Taking a closer look, I saw white lines running though the surface of the teeth too (later realized that these are commonly seen with early decay and are called "white lesions"). At this point, he had been eating solids for about 8 weeks, had no juice, and no sweets (besides organic fruits, etc). He did get his first two teeth very early... 4 months. Is it genetic, bacteria transfer, too much night nursing??? Your guess is as good as mine!

I personally would not be concerned about a child if no signs of decay are evident. I would just focus on a nutrient dense diet and keep an eye out for signs of decay starting.

Yes, the BO is very expensive. Dr Weston Price (the dude who originally published his findings about the effects of BO and CLO on health and development) does specifically note that they should be used together for maximum benefit. I don't think it would be detrimental to use just one or the other, but possibly less effective for tooth decay issues.

Best of luck with your babe's health!!!

Okay, I am on a posting rampage here....

So, we've been using BO and CLO for about 3 weeks now. I am seeing some improvement and I am anxious to see more soon!

Since we had to wait 4 weeks for the BO and CLO (see previous post about that saga), I went on a rampage while waiting for them to arrive. I was very focused on a diet that was maximally nutrient rich for both DS and myself. Lots of broccoli (try dipping it in an organic tomato sauce!), sweet potatoes, veggies, and fruits. I also refocused my efforts on brushing and used a lot of Swiffies. Once the products arrived, we used them ASAP.

It is hard for me to quantify how much the decay has reversed, if at all. But, I can say that the brown discoloration has reduced greatly! It was very obvious before and only noticeable now upon close inspection. I hope to report next time that it is gone! Also, the white lines I observed before (again, see my previous post if interested) are almost completely gone. I can still see traces of them but almost gone entirely.

I will continue to use the products and watch his diet. I hope and pray that I will continue to see more progress and I will keep ya'll posted!

Good luck!
