Okay, I've had mild twinges here and there with a few short episodes of very minor crampiness -- until today.

Right now I can barely sit or stand upright! Is this normal?

Normal varies so much - if you're having severe cramps, I'd call your Dr. or midwife, just to be on the safe side, especially if you're also having any spotting/bleeding.

I'm sure everything will be fine.

I don't have advice, I just wanted you to know someone had read this. Probably calling your care provider would be a good idea.

If the pain is really severe enough that you are doubled over, please call your dr/mw. It may be normal for you, but it's worth getting checked out.

hope it settled down, how are you now?

Thanks for all the well wishes. : Those cramps lasted several hours -- but then I slept like a baby after DH rubbed my belly!

I've been so tired lately I never logged back on here or even thought about calling my doctor. Now I'm thinking the pain was maybe gas

Now you're talking sister! I get so many pains that are relieved by me going to the bathroom or (hee hee TMI I know!) just plain farting!!!

Finally! Someone else talking about my most embarassing pg symptom--gas!

I think it started sooner this time than last. Yikes!

And, I really wasn't a gassy person before my first pregnancy. I just wasn't. Even after DS was born, I've been more so. One night, when DS was a tiny baby and sleep was so precious, I got up because of a stomach pain and almost fainted in the hallway en route to the bathroom, the pain was that severe. I had to lay down on the floor. I called out to DH--loudly, saying I thought I had to go to the hospital.

He remembers coming to the hallway and finding me... passing gas on the floor. He told me to be quiet or I'd wake the baby!

I'm almost too embarassed to post this story...
Oh well.

I'm glad you did though -- too funny but also important for some of us first-timers like me to know about, just in case...
