Is it true that dried beans cannot be organic?

The lady that owns the very small health food store in my area was told this by her supplier.

I thought it was strange so I thought I would ask the experts

I've never heard that. I did a google search for organic beans and got lots of sites selling organic driend beans. I'm really interested in knowing more about this.

That doesn't make too much sense. You grow some beans organically and then dry em out. I don't see how removing the moisture could make them not organic.

Uh...no, not true. That seems a weird thing to say. Of course dried beans can be organic.

I buy organic beans from Azure Standard

Um...that is weird and makes no sense. Whoever told you health store lady that is very misinformed. I buy them all the time at my food co-op. heck, I grow organic dry beans in my garden!

Sometimes you have to wonder...

BTW: I just bought dried black beans at my co-op tonight in the bulk section and they were labeled organic.

Obviously her supplier doesn't sell them.

You all have my thoughts exactly! She called to ask me if this was true. She said maybe her supplier didn't want to go this route with her being she is very small and doesn't order much! It still makes no sense. Why not just say, "We can't go this route with you since your so small."
