repairing waldorf doll?

My dd's buttton baby has a hole worn through the skin fabric at the nose (I used Joy's pattern to add a nose). The hole is through the skin fabric but not the stockinette tubing. I thought of replacing the entire skin fabric for the head (while dd's sleeping, of course!) but the doll's a well-loved two-year old and if I replace the facial skin it won't match the worn body skin anymore - any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else? Please don't tell me I need to replace all the skin fabric!

I've seen instructions for replacing the skin on the face in books (like the one by Sunnhild Reinckens), but I don't think you'll get away with not having some color difference. Would the color difference really matter to your dd, in the end, so long as the hole in the nose is fixed?

ok, ya you're right - it's me that thinks there can't be a colour difference (bit of a perfectionist). What is the name of this book by Sunnhild Reinckens?
