I have a Britax Marathon. First, do any of you put your's in the washing machine? I have to admit, mine is in the machine on the delicate cycle, even though the carseat said not to do that...... its just tooooo dirty to handwash, I don't think it would all come clean.... 
My main question is this: That grey spongy thing that is underneath the carseat cover, its also removeable.... and its gross at the moment. Can I wash that too? I haven't put it in the machine because I'm afraid that would destroy it. I could at least handwash it, right? What do you do with it?
