help me stay sane with cleaning

We are a three person family. DS can be a bit messy, but he also really likes to clean. We live in a five room house. We also work from about 8-5 every day, so time at home is sort of limited. I'm a student and DW is a teacher, which involves lots of paper (oy!). AND, we have very little storage space (three tiny closets that hold clothes and cosmetics and such).

I've been feeling like at least one weekend day of precious family time is "ruined" with cleaning, even if we do it together. There's just too much to do -- sweeping, then mopping, picking up, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, putting away papers and books, laundry, etc. It is making me totally nuts and then I resent that day of the weekend.

What ideas do you have to make this work?

: thanks,
megin

Maybe make a scedule and everyday do ONE thing on your list. Like Mondays vacuum, Tuesdays clean the bathroom, etc. So then the weekends can be more free???

Or hire someone else to do it... if you can afford it, it might be worth it since it would save you time. Maybe you could barter with someone?
