My baby finally came on Monday October 9th,at 5:31 p.m. after 30 hours of labor 5 of which was spent pushing. He got caught and I was to exhausted to continue so I gave in and got a c-section. A lot of things happened during and after my birth which I am highly upset about but not ready to discuss in writing or even verbally to many people yet, I am in schock still. I might post about it when I am ready. My boyfriend is thinking of suing but anyways. They were 80% sure it was a girl, we had Evelyn Margaret picked out as a name, it came out a boy! When they announced his sex I looked at James and said "our daughter has a penis!??" and he said the doctor looked like he almost dropped the baby because he was trying not to laugh. And he is A very big boy! 8 pounds 15 ounces, 21 inches long, with the biggest feet and long fingers and toes. A few nurses said he is going to be a pianist. I am having a really rough recovery process due to a mess up by some nurses during recovery for which I am visiting the doctor tomorrow however..

I am so in love with my son, he is worth all the pain, and I am so lucky because he is a very calm quiet happy baby. He doesn't cry very much and he sleeps for long stretches, which amazes me because he was so active in the womb. He latched on like a pro as soon as I got him 3 hours post surgery. Haven't had any issues with nursing and daddy does most of his diaper changes, which I call diedee doos for some reason. I have to make him frustrated and almost on the verge of being angry to get him to latch on though it's kind of strange. If I try when he's showing hunger cues he'll keep putting his hands in the way, but if I get him frustrated he'll latch right on angrily and such mightily away.

I would just link the album but it's password protected and I don't feel comfortable having that information out there..

Oh and he's uncircumcised, my bf fought me on it for awhile but he felt terrible that pretty much everything I didn't want ended up happenening, it's like they took my birth plan and ran in the opposite direction. He actually told me last night he's glad we didn't circ. It's so adorable when I walk past evan's bassinet which we have stationed in the living room along with me because our bed is too high for me to get into he looks over and smacks his lips and does the tongue thrust. He smells mama in his sleep and is like mmmm food! I call him my little booby monster.

Congratulations!

What a beautiful baby!

Try swaddling to keep his hands out of the way in order to feed at earlier hunger cues.

I usually strip him down to a diaper for skin to skin contact during feedings and cover him in a blanket but I might try that. I don't make him scream or anything though, I just make him wait a bit before offering him my breast or else he just can't get the latch, which is better I think then the nurse in the hospital who'd grab my boob and shove the nipple to the back of his throat. She also told me to only feed him 15 minutes each breast and burp in between because after 15 minutes my breast would be empty. *blank stare* good thing I read a lot and knew better then that.. She was also trying to make me enforce a feeding schedule on him, when he wasn't even a day old yet!!:

Not in your DDC either, but I just wanted to say "Awww, he's a cutie!"

I hated the lady that came in to teach me to breastfeed, she tried the schedule thing too.:

Wow, your BF and my DH look like they could totally be brothers! O_O

Hope you recover fully and quickly.
