Life with a Babe- Share the Love - Page 2

We're starting day 4 here and so far she's a real joy! She had a tough night her second night...then I realized I hadn't been burping her (way to go second-time mommy) ...duh...but since then, she's been a really happy baby. She slept on me the whole night last night and she had quite a few nursing sessions, but I feel pretty energized this morning. I can still get some good sleep in with a baby on me.

I'm so in love with her and with my entire family...it's crazy!

We're on day 9 and I am still madly in love, full of gratitude and amazed that we've been blessed with a third child

Jackson is a wonderfully mellow baby. He loves being in arms, although it can be mine or anyone else's, providing he's not hungry He slept an incredible 7 hours last night, chest to chest with me. Mind you, his sleeper was soaked through by morning. I felt horrible! (but well-rested )

What has everyone been doing to feel more human in these early days? I suffered with PPD after DS1 and anxiety after DS2. This time around I lined up a lot more help from DH, family and friends, I've made sure to shower every morning and have been taking Jack out when I feel like a walk or running errands would do me some good.

I've also tried to keep a positive attitude about his birth experience. It wasn't the VBAC I'd hoped for, but a cesarean can be positive too if you look at it in the right way. He's here, I'm here, we're both healthy and I'm healing well. He's a champion nurser despite our separation of about 90 minutes afterwards (and he never left his daddy's side in that time, which was very comforting for me and, if anything, gave them some added bonding time).

Not perfect, but good. He was worth every little bit.

Sir Latchalot is rooting on daddy's shirt, so I must be off. It was nice to type with two hands for a while!

Well things are hectic here. With 5 kids now, things are just never quiet. My older kids ( and by older, keep in mind my oldest is 4) are excited to have a new brother, but my 10 month old isnt as enthusiastic. You can tell he is very jealous of the new baby. But i cant pick him up unless someone hands him to me, because he is over 20 pounds. So if my husband is at work or busy tending to the other children, its hard to give him the attention he seems to be desperately seeking now. My 4 year old is also acting out quite a bit, and definitly more attention seeking. I try my best to reassure him that i still love him the same, but i dont think he gets it yet. Hopefully they will get the hang of having a new baby around soon. My husband is helping out more than i expected, so I am thankful for that. My after pains are excruciating. But other than that, everything is a ok. BFing isnt working out physically, so i have been pumping, and that is helping a lot. Atleast he is still getting the breastmilk.

I am off to sleep... hopefully for more than an hour

Sounds hectic, Forty's_wifey And I'm sorry breastfeeding isn't going as well as you'd hoped. I have a special place in my heart for pumping mamas who go the extra mile, though. You're amazing to be doing so much with five little ones to care for. Way to go, mama!
